We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarahi Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarahi, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing outsiders may be unaware of is that my industry of “tv and film” has not stopped because of Covid. It has slowed down a little, but has continued with following cover guidelines. There are millions of people who are currently “binging” on Netflix and that creates a huge demand for new seasons to be produced. Networks will need to continue coming out with new material to fill the viewers demand. As they say in the industry “The show must go on.”
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Sarahi Diaz and I am an actress, host, On set acting coach and a Writer. I first started my career as a model and even though I enjoyed it very much, I always felt like I wanted to do more. I’ve always loved to make people laugh. I first started on live television and that was a wonderful experience. I did over 800 tv shows here in Miami and that was Boot Camp for my career, because as you can imagine, all kinds of crazy things happen on live television and you can’t stop and re-shoot you have to just keep going! I also did some theater and then moved to LA. Where I continued working on television, commercials and film. I think it’s amazing how life leads you to different places. I never expected I would get to accomplish so much and I’m not even done! looking back now I realize that I’ve always been kind of a writer. I would jot down funny lines or jokes in my agenda, never knowing that I would actually use them one day. But one day I was invited to audition for a sketch comedy TV show. I had to write and perform my own sketches. It was a wonderful and very fulfilling experience. I learned that I could actually write and to confirm my suspicion, I was given an Emmy for my writing sketch comedy. I still write, coach and even do a little directing. I can’t wait to see what else Life throws my way. My advice is to always try to be positive and look at the bright side of things. At the end of the day you only have two choices you can either quit or keep going. Wake up, make your bed and do your best. Eventually it will pay off.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
