We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Robillard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For the past 10 years, I’ve always enjoyed being a part of the creative process. Between being a designer, teaching other designers, and picking up other creative pastimes and hobbies along the way, I feel like being a creative person is the jump that keeps me going all the time.
In the view of a person I’m working with, seeing their reaction after I bring their ideas to life definitely brings a feeling of fulfillment. I understand not everyone can get what’s in their head to life, so being able to assist with that makes me feel like my skillset is a blessing to others.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being the creative director/founder of my own business, I’ve always been focused on helping small to medium size businesses develop branding solutions that convert to what they’re looking for. Being a professional in my career as a product manager for large corporations, I’ve leveraged my skills to help the people that I work with build their dreams into tangible ideas. My goal is to educate and elevate anyone I work with and I accomplish this by providing tools, resources, and anything additional that would help them be their best selves. Being creative in the design industry is my passion and it translates across the board with everything I touch. If I can inspire others to do the same, then my job is good to go!
Getting here was definitely not easy. Between a lot of trial and error, learning new techniques that helped me organize my business and mentors gave me the direction I needed. We like to idolize the hustle culture a lot, but learning how to take mental breaks and restructuring your business from the inside out are key things that will help you be a better business owner to serve your audience.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
An activity that I always try to push my friends to do first is rollerskating! It’s a hobby that’s dear to me and doing that would for sure be on the list! Outside of this, the rest of the week would consist of us visiting historical Florida places, like Key West, and trying out a few hot food spots that we probably have saved in a Tik Tok vault. Other activities would be taking up bowling, and volleyball in the community, and also knocking a few things off of their bucket list to keep the balance.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends and family are definitely the most prominent supporters of my business. Whenever I felt like quitting, they reminded me of why I started everything that I’m doing and encouraged me to push forth.
My father, Erick Robillard Senior, has always been one of the main people that have encouraged me to pursue my dreams of entrepreneurship. He has always pushed for his businesses when he had his ideas and made sure that he did his best when he started them. Growing up, I was always inspired by how he persevered, and fast forward to today his hotel, La Belle Maison Milot, is his pride and joy.
Being around him and everyone else keeps my environment and mental space so positive and I’m grateful for it.
