We had the good fortune of connecting with Marina Nedic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The first company (I.E.M.) was founded in Italy in 1999. It was (and still is) based in Verona, Italy, It was created with the aim of helping Italian companies market their products on international markets.. Since Verona is the city of Romeo and Juliet (but also surrounded by numerous vineyards) the company specialized in the promotion of food and wine, initially towards Asian markets. Then in 2003 we started working on the US market and saw the huge potential, thus we opened the US business in Miami in 2007.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
International Event & Exhibition Management (the US based company) currently specializes in promoting the wines of Italy and organizes wine events across the US, Canada, Mexico etc.. We have a unique relationship both with clients in Italy and the US audience..

Lessons learned (the hard way): that every crisis and challenge also represents an opportunity

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So much to do in Miami!! Some of my favorite places: Soho Beach House (for beach, drinks and restaurant), Bal Harbor for shopping and Makoto, more shopping in the Design District and art in Wynwood.. Day trip to the Keys, and a boat for a day or two
