We had the good fortune of connecting with Noemi Aguilar-Horta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noemi, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is the fact that I believe in being able to serve others first with the ability that I have. I know that what I have accomplished in life and mastered skillsets that anyone can also learn to master to turn into a business for themselves. I have a clear goal of the type of lifestyle I want to live, what I want to be doing in tmy everyday life that I thrive for that life and go after it. I dont tend to let others influence my thoughts of their own definition of success but my own definition.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run two successful virtual businesses. One is a one-stop shop place for businesses that need bookkeeping, payroll, business tax, business start-up, and individual taxes. I get to work this business from home with my husband and am proud to say that the firm has allowed him to pursue what he wants. We also have a team of two other bookkeepers that allow for the business to keep growing. I also have an online coaching business where I teach the skillset of bookkeeping to other moms and how they can start their business with No degree Fancy office or Time Wasted named MamáCounts. I focus on the growth of the community and resources for these women who want to build a bookkeeping business from home as well so they can be there for what matters the most to them. I serve them by running monthly challenges, webinars, Live events, workshops and my recent Tik Toks that also give ideas, tips and resources for those who are in this field or want to explore this field of business.
I got to where I am at today because of my belief and hard work in myself & having a husband supporting my crazy thoughts. We were teen parents, and when we were young we would say that he would work and I would study, when I was done studying, I would work so he can study. Although, it didn’t go exactly as planned, he did work and I put my head down to build the businesses and now he doesn’t work where he was, but now also runs the businesses with me.
It was not an easy journey because I had to learn to unlearn a lot of things. My biggest challenge was my own mindset. I was thinking to little because I thought that is how I should be thinking and that I should keep myself small because I had to keep myself “humble” It was a mentality that I grew up with that people who have money are not good people. I never had an idea of running a business or wanted to do so even, but when I wanted to be there for my kids more, myself more, my marriage more, I knew that I had to stop trading my time for money. Time was way more valuable to me. When I found out that what I made in a week, I could easily make it in an hour, that changed my whole perspective of my time and work.
I want to the world to know that MamáCounts is based on a mother who want to build a life of success on her own terms because when she is better her whole family reaps from the benefits of her being able to thrive in life and in business. I want the world to know that a degree will not define what you know or don’t, or even the value of your knowledge. There are so many skillset sets that can be mastered and no need to have a degree to prove it. Especially in this field of bookkeeping & tax, NO DEGREE is needed! I have built a six figure firm without a degree in a field that helps businesses with the success of their finances. I want the world to know that when you design the life you want and are able to show up for YOU, create disruption and do something daring, your whole life will change for the good! I want Everyone to know that YOU COUNT!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to take them to the downtown are of Chicago. There are so many beautiful places to see and explore. The food, the community, the architecture, the culture. There is the Fullerton market with so much art, culture and unique food there. The museums that hold so much history, the beautiful architecture and the navy pier! riding the ferris wheel is the most iconic view you will have of the city skyline and its beautiful
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Lauren Golden from The Free Mama. She thought me to design the freedom-based life that I want to have how I want it to look like and by building a business how that is attainable
