We had the good fortune of connecting with Irina Petrosyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Irina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I think I wanted to create something new for people but it was really hard to find in which direction I have to go. Also, I knew from the beginning that I want to design something, it wasn’t important if it will be clothes or accessories like phone cases. I remember that I was looking for a new phone case for myself and non of the cases were good enough for me. I wanted something new, fresh, and unique but all of the phone cases were the same, boring or the quotes/texts on them were overrated. From the beginning, I was prepared for any challenges and breakdown moments because deep down I knew that this is it. In my opinion, it is important to be prepared mentally when you start a business and not give up. I went through some ups and downs but it was worth it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I design phone cases – this is my thing. From the beginning, I wanted to create phone cases that people could relate to and feel cool wearing them. Every single time when I design a new project, I’m so excited and I want people who buy them to feel excited too. Sometimes I’m struggling with creating new things and in that moments I listen to myself. If I’m not feeling to create then I immediately stop. Then after a few hours or days, I’m trying again and suddenly I can design several projects in a short amount of time. I think for artists/creative ones it is important to not force something, we have to feel it first. When I’m feeling uninspired, I focus on my routine, something that is very well-known to my body or mind, something that is comfortable for me and I feel safe. I could take dance classes for a few days, read books or simply walk around a park, just to be close to nature. I learned this from Valeria Lipovitsky, and after trying this several times it is always helping me get through the struggling time for me as a creative one.
I want to share good vibes and energy, which is why most of my designs are colorful. I want the world to know that I want to help people in any way possible and make them happy. If people would be happy seeing that their phone case just arrived and the case it’s perfect how it was in the photo, then I would be grateful and fulfill.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Warsaw, Poland. At this time of the year, it’s already cold and it gets darker faster. I think I would take my best friend to Old Town because there is that specific atmosphere and it’s very pretty. We will buy a coffee or hot chocolate from Café Nero which is my favorite cafe. I think we could eat lunch there because there is plenty of restaurants with polish food so that would be interesting for her. In the evening we could go to a karaoke bar to try something new although I know that I’m not a good singer. On the second day, we could start with eating breakfast at Charlotte’s, which specializes in preparing a French kind of breakfast – I love French breakfast. Then we will take a long walk in Royal Bathrooms – it’s a big park with a museum and with the Chopin monument, it’s pretty there and so peaceful. I think the last place would be just walking around the center of Warsaw. Just us walking, talking, shopping, and laughing sounds perfect to me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I guess everything changed in my life when I started taking care of my mindset and myself. But I have to say that I felt the power and the motivation when I started reading more books. There are two books that were very crucial in my life. The first was “Change your questions, change your life” by Marilee Adams. This one really opened my eyes and mind. The second one was “Million dollar habits” by Brian Tracy. Because of this one, I learn to take my morning routine seriously. Also, I would like to shoutout to all my amazing friends and closest ones who were genuinely helping me and supporting me in this journey.
