Meet Briana Campbell | Cookie Extravaganza

We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well it all started 1 day while I was at work. Well actually for a few months I was trying to figure out ways to have a 2nd set of income. Most people have a hobby to where it brings them in money. (Selling shoes, doing eye lashes or eyebrows, etc). I didn’t know or have the funds or connects to do either of those things. So while at work one day a coworker of mine was helping me brainstorm on some things I could do to bring in extra income. Most of my coworkers know I LOVE to bake. They then went on to mention, “What about selling cookies?”. From there my mind just went crazy. From branding to the different type of cookies I could sell. The ideas were endless.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One of the things I can definitely say I’m most proud of is that throughout it all I never gave up. For example. My first time making my chocolate chip cookie it was a complete FAILURE. Trying out many different things and tweaking certain ingredients to get it just right. Putting 100’s of dollars in and not really knowing if this was the “perfect” cookie was stressful. Maybe on my 10th-11th attempt after 3 months I finally perfected it and it made me feel relief and bliss to know that after not giving up and continuing to believe in myself, I finally perfected part of my craft. One of the lessons I learned along the way is, always believe in yourself, your product & your brand. It always start with you. If you don’t believe in yourself, your product or your brand, no one will.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I’m currently located in Dania Beach. I live about a mile away from Dania Pointe. Which is more so of an outdoor shopping plaza with a few restaurants and a nice movie theater. We would more than likely end up at Firebirds Grille. After Firebirds we would head over to the Haagen Dazs to grab some Icecream and just walk around to enjoy the scenery. We’re both super simple people and enjoy the simple things in life.

1st and foremost shoutout to Veronica and Katina. Without you guys this wouldn’t even be a thing.

2nd Shoutout to my parents… Any and all ideas that I produced to you guys no matter what it was you had my back whole heartedly and supported me.

3rd shoutout to my boyfriend Laverick. There were many days and nights where I wanted to just give it all up. Throughout many failures, you never allowed me to give up and preached to me how everything will get better in due time.
