We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenya Israelion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenya, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is not on my own behalf i couldnt do anything without my lord and savior Jesus Christ. Praying to Jesus and keep him first in all that I do. When I’m not focused I pray and Jesus gets me back on track speaking to my in various of ways telling me hey you’re not going to be successful in that business if you go this wrong way come back. When I’m not motivated I pray and Jesus gives me a push like okay i understand you’re feelingdown but don’t let that stop you keep going don’t give up, you got this you were born for this and more gain your strengthback through me becausei made you a strong woman. Life will always have trials but if you stick with me I’ll bring you to a great place. All my ideas comes from him. Since I was a little girl I was gifted the talent to keep the house organized, bring my own creative twist to decorating the home and the homes of family members. Diving a little deeper into I would always have the passion to switch the decor of my room every so often. My success is attributed to God , to Jesus. I love Jesus with all my heart.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m very excited that my company provides a different twist on home decor. I know prayer and dedication plays a big role in where I am today. It wasn’t easy. I had to keep getting back on track year after year due to life circumstances and a unmotivated life pattern but I knew this is something I was born to do so I couldn’t keep getting distracted. I’ve learned alot of lessons along the way for example not wasting time on ideas I’ve had to actually execute my visions and plans in order to grow and be successful. I couldn’t let obstacles hold me back or detur me from reaching my goals. Mistakes happen but learning from them to become better is what makes everything worth while. I know there’s alot of people like me that are young African American woman brought up in the hood labeled a statistic and would never have a successful life but that’s where prayer, dedication and focus works for me to achieve the unachievable and change the world one step at a time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve been a homebody for 3 years now so I don’t have any recommendations honestly but I could say wynwood arts is absolutely cool there’s a whole strip for you to walk take pictures and just have a nice time alone or with friends kids a significant other or family , South beach is amazing you could shop at your favorite stores, eat at the best restaurants on the actual beach strip with the wind blowing in your hair and smelling the beach water and of course going for a relaxing swim in the beach with your picnic basket full of snacks and refreshments, and downtown/Brickell Miami definitely have nice scenery for photo opts when the sun gies down if the night life is your thing youll love the environment and restaurants to try out are endless with all types of foods from all over the world.never ate there. 😂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God Jesus & Holy Spirit the very first in my life that deserves more exposure and recognition most people would shoutout their team their hair and makeup crew and so on first and never recognition God, Jesus and Holy Spirit but i wont be like that. Then my Mother she gave birth to me i wouldnt be here without that blessing, my father who helped conceive me and who never left my life, my brothers and my sisters who allowed me to make mistakes and learn alot from them to grow in maturity to help teach them about how wrong decisions can effect you in a negative way but you cant stay there you have to get up and keep going keep learning keep trying to one day succeeding in all aspects of life, and my long time friend G he was definitely sent by Jesus himself to my life. I never had anyone that’ll hold me accountable (besides my parents) for things I needed to get better at when I messed up he never threw it in my face he’d just help me to understand and overstand how I could and should do better due to knowing better and having the capacity of intelligence that I have. I thank them all so much.
