We had the good fortune of connecting with Delvin Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Delvin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting C.A.L.M was based on not seeing any programs or services that catered to Youth and Anger Mgmt. The service initiative program is solely based on getting youth as much information as possible about Self-Control, Conflict Resolution, Impulsivity, Coping Skills, Empathy etc. I strongly believe if Youth are giving these key tools, it is less likely that they’d become angry adults.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business started from a simple thought and observation. Im passionate about working with kids and throughout my journey, I was able to notice the anger, frustration, emotional wellness. I completed an anger management course and wanted to do more and that’s how C.A.L.M was born. C.A.L.M 247 LLC is an acronym that stands for Control Anger Limit Madness. The purpose for the name comes from my Youth and Anger Mgmt service initiative. The name suits the initiative in a meaningful way because we’d all like to be CALM after situations that caused us to be angry. Working with Youth is a great reward but sometimes trying to explain and get on board with other organizations to speak with youth about their Anger/Emotions is not an easy task. I wish many were receptive to the idea but that’s not the case however I continue to post content, pictures, examples and speaking engagements to let the world know that there is a NEED.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being in my 40’s, I’m into more of a relaxed, friendly environment. I’d take the friend to perhaps a cigar lounge, a good restaurant of their choice and maybe a comedy spot.
