We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin “JC” Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin “JC”, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success/the success of the Fitness by JC brand are client results. Watching someone start on the pathway to their health and fitness goal, achieve it and change their life, and impact those around them in a positive light is the ultimate fulfillment. It will never get old as it’s the gift that keeps giving. With every life changed, another is impacted and inspired to change as well. It’s an ever flowing ripple effect of all things great.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is The Fitness By Jc Body Transformation Program where we help individuals lose the weight (or gain in some cases) change their mindset and create long term healthy habits that leads to a sustainable Healthy lifestyle. What sets us apart from others is that clients come to us for results, and our main focus is to over deliver on exactly that. What makes me most proud is that to date, 1,500+ clients have created fantastic results and changed their lives, which results in a positive impact in everything they touch or come in contact with in their lives. How I got to where I am business wise today is to first, go through my own transformation of losing almost 50 lbs. This allowed me to grow and transform my mind and body into who I needed to be to lead. This also helps in me understanding the mindset of a new client and being able to meet them where they are, as I walked that path before them and can relate.
With that trust established early, the foundation can be built for a great relationship where action is taken, and results are achieved.
When I first started my business on the business side, everything was trial and error. Looking to see what works, what doesn’t. And that was a headache haha. So just like I hired my coach to transform my health and fitness, (Rob Reed Fitness)I hired a business coach to help me learn the aspects of how to establish a successful business. (Mike Chu at Champion Development).
With guidance, it became, just like with my health, easy to spot where I was going wrong having an extra set of eyes. Was there and is there continually a learning curve? Absolutely. But that’s the beauty of business as you truly grow through what you go through, and become a better leader because of it.
The lessons I have learned along the way are endless, but a few I could state are don’t do it alone, ask someone for help. As human beings, at times we’re too prideful and strong to ask for help and it only keeps us stuck. Asking for help shows vulnerability, and the desire to improve, and getting help from someone who has already done what you are attempting to do 100x helps you create and obtain success faster, and with way less headaches. One other piece of advice I would offer would be proximity is power. Never be the smartest in the room. Surround yourself with the highest of quality people, that are giving by nature and light years ahead of you. Just soaking up that knowledge like a sponge will allow you to make quantum growth in every aspect of life, especially your business.
What I would like the world to know about my brand and story is that we live to give and helping you achieve your goal is our number one priority. I was the first person through this process and learned what it was like to give to yourself, and see how amazing life can be when you prioritize you, starting with your health. That gift, is the gift that keeps giving, and helping others experience that gift is the ultimate feeling of fulfillment, seeing them thrive, and everyone around them benefit from that electricity/energy that comes with being your best self.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friends were in town, we would start off the morning with a workout at Anatomy, or Muscle Beach Gym in South beach. Following that, spend some time at the beach, or grab some lunch at the rooftop at the 1Hotel. If they wanted to hit the water, grab a yacht for the day to just relax and enjoy the weather and vibes. When it comes to dinner, easy choice, I would take them to my favorite restaurant Prime 112, and order up, eat, and call it a night. Outside of that, Miami has so many interesting things going on. You could catch a Heat game at the arena, outdoor concert at Bayside, Art Basel when it comes to town, or F1 when it’s race time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am absolutely grateful for the help and support I’ve received and continue to receive along the way. First, it starts with my parents for giving me the love, support, and belief that achieving my goals and helping others achieve theirs was possible. Next, my coaches and mentors Rob Reed Fitness, Mike Chu at Champion Development, and Rob Wilson. And book wise, Relentless by Tim Grover, Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins, Power of One More by Ed Mylett, and Non-Negotiable by Wes Watson.
