We had the good fortune of connecting with Roc Chamberlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roc, how do you think about risk?
I view taking risks as an essential part of life. I only have one chance at life and I rather spend my time doing whatever it takes to accomplish my goals.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart artistically from others is the ability to create worlds for my projects and ideas. My first project, Forest Fire, was with Urban legends Cult and within the album we speak from the perspective of being kids at a haunted summer camp. My next project with Liquid Dinosaurs takes the perspective of a fox and a panda who live on another planet in the year 3022 who fall into a portal and end up in prehistoric Pangea. Throughout the duration of the project the fox and panda try to find their way back home. For my upcoming Solo project Speed of Light, every song is in association with a chakra and how the chakras resonate with me, all while being a coming of age story. Which is currently being adapted into a short film.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to the beach first because the beaches in Miami and Fort Lauderdale are beautiful To eat I would take them to gekko, 1800 lucky and Carbone, those are some of the best spots I’ve been to and they are definitely a good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Most importantly God deserves all the glory for blessing me with the talent I have and the people around me who believe in me. My family and My girlfriend are also very important to me as they give me a reason to create. Outside of them, everybody in Omni sound space has worked tremendously hard towards assisting me in making my visions come to life. Along with the help of Freesugar creative services and AB Stills who I have worked closely with throughout the curation and execution for the Speed of Light campaign.
