We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Mauro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe that consistency is the key to my success and the success of my brand. I have worked in this industry for 15 years now and although I have changed and grown as a person in that time, the way I treat my clients and my business has never shifted – The same goes for my outlook on my journey. Over the years, I have undergone many hurdles but I have always persevered because regardless of the circumstance, I remained true to who I was and what my brand stood for. I truly believe it’s been the driving force behind our very “word of mouth” clientele.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We offer full service event planning and design. We specialize in social events but also offer extended services to corporate and charity. While other companies focus on their own niche markets, we cater to all. I don’t want people to ever find themselves searching our socials and concluding we have one “look” because we have multiple aesthetics. Although we specialize in luxury events, we are able to work with multiple budgets and designs. Our goal is to ensure all of our clients’ needs are met and no two clients are the same, so how can we treat them like the next client? We’d never!

I am so incredibly proud of myself for being one of the youngest in the industry and having already accomplished so much. I have been named as one of the Top 3 Wedding Professionals across Canada, my business has been recognized for being one of Canada’s top businesses and the #1 Event Planning Service in the Greater Toronto Area. Our work has been featured in WedLuxe, Today’s Bride, Wedding Chicks, Narcity and several other event blogs and publications, and I couldn’t be more proud to have accomplished all of these things prior to hitting 30 and all while creating a family with my amazing husband.

It definitely was not easy – I had to sacrifice a lot. While most of my friends were out partying and traveling, I was working; and there is nothing wrong with that. I just had a goal and I knew how and when I wanted to achieve it. Along the way, I met my partner, we got married, and had two beautiful children. It was HARD but I couldn’t be more blessed.

Any challenge I faced, I knew I had to push through. Any hurdle I hit was just one of the many I’d have to tackle in my lifetime so if I didn’t keep going, everything I had created would have come to a halt. That’s self-sabotage and the reputation I have built is not worth sacrificing over a “bad moment”. Everything is temporary and that’s why I say “moment”… you can’t let it ruin your day!! That has definitely been the greatest lesson I’ve learned along the way.

Our brand is who we are as people. All of our team members have been especially handpicked for their talent but most importantly for who they are as individuals. Collectively, we work together to create beautiful events but at the end of the day, our clients remember us most for how we treated them or how we made them feel.

My story is still unfolding, it doesn’t stop here. I started out as a barista in a bakery and worked my way through 3 degrees, multiple diplomas/certificates, and working on countless events to get where I am today. I can’t wait to see where else my story takes me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we had to stay local, I would probably want to stay in the city for sure – take a trip out to Niagara or Prince Edward County for a nice wine tour; visit some of Toronto’s best restaurants and bars. I love the waterfront, there are always so many fun things going on and inside the city, tons of festivals or markets to visit!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband and two beautiful children. My husband is my biggest cheerleader; his support and guidance has always been so helpful in my successes. My children are my driving force – everything I do, I do for them. I want them to always feel loved and to always chase their dreams. Nothing would make me more proud than to see them go on and do great things.
