We had the good fortune of connecting with Helen Maiyu (@cozymaiyu) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Helen, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks in my life/career has allowed me to experience and open doors that I initially didn’t think were possible. If I didn’t take risks, I know I’d always wonder “what if?”.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m mostly known as a blogger & social media influencer on my main page @helenmaiyu. However, I also enjoy video gaming streaming on Twitch and tufting, specifically custom rugs on my page @cozymaiyu. Each rug is a 1 of 1 exclusive as each rug design will only ever be made once. This allows me to maintain my love and interest in tufting while encouraging me to constantly improve my skills.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I really appreciate my family, friends, and partner for always supporting me and believing in me.
