We had the good fortune of connecting with Sloane Elizabeth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sloane, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was pretty much always the only option! I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit since I was in elementary school selling lemonade and cookies on my street, and I always knew I would work for myself. I started a baking business in high school called Sloane’s Sweets & Treats, and I sold decadent cookies and brownies to my classmates. That was the first business I started by myself (after a few failed attempts at projects with friends), and it was instantly profitable! When I got to college at Vanderbilt University, I realized I wanted to be in the nutrition field, so I started posting recipes on Instagram after my freshman year. That was the beginning of my brand, and I knew I could take it far and wide post-grad…which is what I did!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a coach, author, podcaster, and content creator who helps women Eat and Live with Love & Intuition! I combine science with spirituality in all of my healing programs, which is one of the things that makes me different (I focus on the *intuition* in Intuitive Eating!). I’m all about addressing the subconscious root of people’s fears and struggles with food and body image, and I love going deep with my clients to help facilitate life-changing and lasting healing!
Looking back at the past 3.5 years of my business, I am most proud of my clients. The fact that women have been able to release decades of dieting, binge eating, and obsessing in just a few months of coaching never ceases to blow my mind! I am so honored that these women chose me to be their coach, and I can’t wait for the thousands and millions of women I’ll be able to support throughout my career.
I’m also extremely proud of myself. Building a brand and business is not easy, but it has always been at the forefront of my vision, even when I experience doubt, fear, and setbacks. Whenever I experience challenges (which is pretty often – if you’re not being challenged, you’re probably not growing), I lean on my coach and my entrepreneurial friends the most. I strongly believe in the power of mentorship, so I almost always have a mentor that I’m working with because I know that if I can pay someone to help me who’s already where I want to be, I’ll get there 100x faster than trying to figure it out on my own. Learning to bet on myself and make massive investments in myself and my business has elevated my self-confidence and self-worth in huge ways!
Some of my favorite lessons that I’ve learned so far are:
– You have to be happy first. Put your wellness first. Put your energy first. When you operate your business from a place of happiness, wellness, and energy, all of your business results will 10x.
– Be the type of person you want to be now. Imagine that you’re already at the level/goal that you’re striving for – How does that version of you think? What does she believe? How does she take care of herself? What are her standards and boundaries? Embody that version of you FIRST, and then follow through with the action steps and strategy.
– We are the co-creators of our own reality. I believe that the Universe has my back, and the more I surrender, the more things flow. At the same time, I’m almost never in victim-mode because I know that I’m the creator of my reality too. I can choose my energy, my vibe, and my perspective in every moment, and that will mirror the results and reality I experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have always surrounded myself with incredible mentors, supportive family, and loving friends – the collective love and support has absolutely been essential in creating and scaling my business so I can help as many women as possible! I’d love to give a specific shoutout to author Gabby Bernstein. Reading Gabby’s book, The Universe Has Your Back, was a pivotal experience for me in terms of my own food freedom healing and my determination to work for myself. That book truly changed my life and opened me up in so many ways, and I recommend it to everyone!
