We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikita John-Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikita, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My name is Nikita John-Walters, a highly accomplished and driven professional and entrepreneur with a solid educational background. I hold an Associate Degree in Business Management, an Associate Degree in Secondary Teacher Education, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, as well as a Certificate in Real Estate and Property Management.
My professional journey is marked by ten years of teaching experience, where I honed my leadership and communication skills, followed by eight years of successfully managing businesses. In 2018, I made a mark in the digital world, earning the esteemed title of SVG People’s Choice Best Vlogger, showcasing my creativity and passion for content creation. I am also the founder and director of the Performing Arts Club at my school.
Since 2019, I have passionately embraced entrepreneurship, serving as the exclusive executive distributor and representative for Women’s Haven®️ organic feminine care product brand in St Vincent & the Grenadines through my local brand, Treasures of Eden. Working closely with the brand’s founders, I have established a strong presence within the community, promoting health, empowerment, and the significance of natural products.
I have been happily married for 1.5 years and cherish the prospect of starting a family one day. When not working, I indulge in my hobbies, including reading, vlogging, and exploring the wonders of nature.
My unwavering determination, knowledge, and genuine care for others have positioned me as a respected leader. My commitment to empowering women and advocating for organic products underscores my dedication to making a positive impact in both business and the lives of those I serve.
Being a teacher by profession, I wanted to educate women on the dangers of using traditional sanitary napkins and why they should use organic. When the founder and co-founder of Women’s Haven were seeking distributors in other Caribbean islands, it was without a doubt that I had to be a part of this opportunity. I have suffered with painful menstrual cramps for years and have had enough. I always knew that there was a solution to my problem but never knew where or how to get started hence the reason I jumped onboard the Women’s Haven team. Thousands of women in my country have been suffering in silence due to painful menstrual cramps, recurring yeast infections, bad odors, infertility, PCOS, endometriosis and fibroids just to name a few. I wanted women to change the way they feel about their period and break the taboo and have healthy conversations surrounding personal hygiene.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the distributor for The Women’s Haven in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The mission of Women’s Haven®️ is to raise awareness of the dangers of toxic traditional sanitary pads and tampons. Globally, women have been suffering for decades in silence with pain, heavy bleeding, itching, irritation, unpleasant odors, irregular menstrual cycles, PCOS, endometriosis, bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, fibroids, and cancers. The objective of Women’s Haven®️ is to break the taboo and the silence around the subject of the female menstrual cycles and vaginal health by educating females on the importance of using 100% organic feminine care products. We encourage healthy eating, organic skin and hair care products, and healthy lifestyle choices. Women’s Haven®️ is dedicated to educating women about menstrual health and the significant advantages of using organic feminine care products. We are a team of women who have established our own brand to offer high-quality, technologically advanced products to support women’s well-being throughout their menstrual cycle.
I am extremely happy for the lives that have been touched and changed using Women’s Haven Products. Women are more confident and are experiencing happy periods. We have even had women conceiving and giving births.
Business-wise, I’ve reached this point through hard work, dedication and a love and passion for what I do. It was not easy at all. There were days when I felt like giving up but I kept our purpose in mine.
I want Women’s Haven to be a household name throughout the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My country St. Vincent and the Grenadines has a lot to offer. If my best friend was here for a week I’d definitely take her to lunch at my favourite restaurant in Kingstown called Better Foods, they have the best grilled fish on the Island. And for dinner we’ll indulge in some Mediterranean cuisine at Ada Restaurant then hop at the many different bars and lounges in the area across the seashore. Our days will be filled with exploring nature such as hiking to the Vermont Nature Trail, kayaking and snorkeling with Adventure Island SVG as well as taking day trips to the many Islands and Cays in the Grenadines.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to Melesia Adderley and Meredith Johnson, founder and co-founder of The Women’s Haven®️. They are the ones who have inspired me with their passion for Feminine Hygiene and making me a part of their business. I am forever grateful.
