We had the good fortune of connecting with Liani Antelo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liani, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
After teaching in both public and private schools and then having children of my own, it became clear that there was no one-size-fits-all approach to education. This realization led me to a mission: To innovate education and character development through personalized learning that incorporates biblical values.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a nonprofit out-of-system education program, that provides personalized learning and biblical values combined to create a holistic approach to education. Students are seen as unique individuals with distinct strengths, interests, and learning styles.

Personalized learning plays a central role, allowing students to tailor their educational experiences to their specific needs. They have access to a wide range of resources and technologies, enabling them to learn at their own pace and explore subjects that resonate with them. Individualized learning plans are developed collaboratively, taking into account each student’s aspirations, talents, and areas for growth.

Out-of-system education complements traditional classroom settings, offering opportunities for students to engage with the world beyond textbooks and walls. They participate in community service, internships, apprenticeships, and experiential learning activities. This exposure helps them develop practical skills, gain real-world insights, and foster a sense of responsibility towards others.

Embedded within this vision are biblical values, promoting ethical behavior, empathy, compassion, and respect for all individuals. Students learn from the wisdom and teachings found in the Bible, integrating these principles into their daily lives. The emphasis is on character development, integrity, and cultivating a sense of purpose that goes beyond academic achievements.

Teachers serve as mentors and guides, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment. They provide guidance, encouragement, and spiritual mentorship, helping students navigate challenges and discover their unique callings. Collaboration and teamwork are emphasized, nurturing a sense of community and interconnectedness.

This vision ultimately aims to equip students with a solid academic foundation, essential life skills, and a deep understanding of biblical values. Graduates emerge as compassionate, ethical, and empowered individuals, ready to positively impact their communities and make a difference in the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When in Miami, you have to check out the beach and eat some Cuban food. Don’t forget your cafecito.
