Hi Summer, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Reflecting on my journey of launching Buzz Bee Social four years ago in Fort Lauderdale, I can’t help but attribute my success to a blend of factors that have shaped me both personally and professionally. Growing up homeschooled gave me a distinct outlook on education and learning. It fueled my curiosity and taught me how to independently seek knowledge, which has proven to be invaluable as both a creator and entrepreneur.

Leaving behind the comforts of my hometown and my family in Huntington, West Virginia, to chase greater opportunities was undoubtedly a challenge, but it forced me out of my comfort zone and taught me important lessons in resilience, adaptability, and the value of embracing change. My time in a traditional office setting working for the United States Polo Association also provided me with real-world experience and a glimpse into the corporate world, which ultimately fueled my desire to create something more flexible and innovative.

The decision to venture into my own social media marketing company was rooted in my belief in the power of originality and the freedom to work in a way that makes sense. My vision was to create an environment where creativity could thrive, and ideas could be brought to life without the bureaucratic red tape. This fundamental value became the bedrock of my business and a significant driving force behind its success.

Of course, the path to success was not without its fair share of challenges. There were moments of uncertainty, financial obstacles, and even bouts of self-doubt. But thanks to my unique background and the incredible support system in my life, I learned to view challenges as opportunities for growth. I approach each hurdle with patience, a problem-solving mindset, and a determination to find innovative solutions that set my business apart from the competition.

In the end, it was a combination of my unconventional upbringing, my willingness to take risks, and my unwavering commitment to nurturing a creative and liberated work environment that paved the way for my company’s success.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Just as bees are a driving force in pollinating plants and flowers, social media is a driving force in business growth. Buzz Bee Social is a full-service social media company which specializes in organic strategy. Client communication is the heartbeat of the company. We understand that clear and consistent communication is the cornerstone of a successful partnership. From the moment we start collaborating with a new client, we prioritize open lines of dialogue. We take the time to listen, understand their goals, and align our strategies with their vision.

But beyond communication, we recognize that every company we work with has its distinct identity and goals. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. This is where our dedication to tailored approaches truly shines. We delve deep into understanding the nuances of each business we work with – their industry, target audience, brand voice, and aspirations.

Embracing the individuality of each client also extends to our flexibility and adaptability. We understand that businesses evolve, industries shift, and goals change. Therefore, we remain agile, ready to pivot our strategies and tactics as needed. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to cook, and I love to try local restaurants. When someone visits, I always have a fun list of places to check out. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be difficult to find good, filling food, but not in South Florida! My current favorite restaurants are Agliolios in Boynton Beach, Florida. They have a tasty selection of Italian food at good prices. Los Bocados in Parkland, Florida is also delicious. They have a small, but diverse menu of tacos and burritos in a laid-back setting. Since I work behind a computer most days, I enjoy getting outside as much as possible. Green Cay Nature Center in Boca Raton in a great place to see wildlife and Downtown Delray Beach is a fun area to spend the day walking around or take a dip in the ocean.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family deserves a huge shoutout. My parents encouraged me to always follow my passion, think outside the box, and be myself. I never got the impression growing up that a dream couldn’t be achieved if I was willing to work hard for it.

Specific to my business, I owe much of my company’s initial success and momentum to the generosity of Gordo Web Design owners Dayne Diguglielmo and Adam Romasko. They showed me the ropes of starting up a local business, referred me my first client, and continue to be my biggest supporters. My amazing team also deserves credit. I have a small, but hard-working group of individuals who are always ready to jump into action when duty calls- which can be any time of day, weekends, holidays, you name it. They are committed to their work and the success of our client’s businesses. I am super grateful and proud to have my family, friends, and team on my side.
