We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolina Sarassa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a journalist at Univision, my role has been a constant source of inspiration for my entrepreneurial journey. Reporting on diverse stories has allowed me to understand the heartbeat of communities, to empathize with individuals from all walks of life. It was during this time that I began to notice a common thread—a shared experience among mothers that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

Being a mother of two myself, I found that social media provided an incredible avenue for connecting with other moms. Recognizing the transformative power of these online communities, I decided to channel my passion for storytelling and community-building into something more. That’s when the idea of launching my brand on social media took root.

As a creator in the digital space, I’ve learned the art of weaving narratives that resonate with people. My vision for the brand is not just about sharing my own journey but also creating a platform where other moms can see themselves reflected, find support, and foster connections. It’s about leveraging the reach of social media to build a meaningful community that goes beyond superficial interactions.

The thought process behind starting my own business is deeply rooted in my experiences as a journalist, a mother, and a content creator. It’s about bridging the gap between the stories I’ve reported on and the real, day-to-day experiences of mothers. Through this venture, I aspire to create a space where we can share, learn, and uplift each other—a digital haven for moms navigating the beautiful complexities of motherhood.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start by taking my friend to visit Miami Beach. Then, would take her into the heart of Miami’s Cuban culture – grab some Cuban coffee, maybe a “pastelito”, and just soak up Little Havana’s lively atmosphere.

Wouldn’t miss out on the art scene, so I’d take her to cool museums like Pérez Art Museum Miami, maybe get a dose of street art in Wynwood too.

Now, onto the food adventure – I’d think authentic about Cuban dishes at local spots, from croquetas to a hearty Cuban sandwich. And when the sun starts to set, we’ll hit up Calle Ocho, exploring the vibrant Hispanic community, maybe catch a live band, and just soak in the local flavor.

Miami’s got that magic mix of beachy vibes and vibrant culture, and I always try to share it with friends and family.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As I reflect on the journey that has brought me to this point, there’s a heartfelt shoutout I want to dedicate to a group of extraordinary individuals who often work silently behind the scenes—Latina mothers. This shoutout goes to the countless resilient women who navigate the complexities of balancing multiple jobs, all while serving as beacons of inspiration for their children.

To those Latina mothers who are tirelessly pursuing their dreams, breaking barriers, and showing their children the limitless possibilities that come with determination—I salute you. Your strength, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to not only provide but to be living examples of what is achievable are truly commendable.

I also want to extend recognition to every mom out there who, like me, experiences that familiar pang of ‘mom guilt’ in the quiet hours of the night. Balancing personal and professional aspirations while ensuring the well-being of our children is no small feat. Yet, it’s a testament to the love and dedication we pour into every role we play.

So, to all the Latina mothers who work multiple jobs, pursue dreams, and grapple with ‘mom guilt’—this shoutout is for you. Your commitment and love are shaping futures, breaking barriers, and proving that with resilience, anything is possible. Let’s continue inspiring and supporting each other on this incredible journey of motherhood.
