Meet Stefano & Guido Spacagna | Co-owners, Spacagna Italian Hair Design

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stefano & Guido Spacagna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stefano & Guido, how do you think about risk?
Stefano Spacagna: Five years ago, my brother and I took a major risk and moved to Miami to pursue our dream of opening our own business in the United States. The unknown was challenging and scary at the time, but we are so glad that we did it. Now, we are proud to have our own authentic, Italian hair salon in the heart of Coral Gables and look forward to continued growth and expansion.
Guido Spacagna: Growing up in a small city in Italy, I always wanted to experience the American Dream, so we packed up with a small amount of savings, took the risk and went for it — it has certainly paid off in many ways from both a professional and personal standpoint.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Stefano Spacagna: Ciao, sono Stefano Spacanga (Hi, I am Stefano Spacagna). I have over 15 years of experience as a professional hairstylist and colorist. I began working in Italy as a stylist, was an advanced Salon Manager at the prestigious Metodo Rossano Ferretti Salon in Vienna, and then became an Assistant Creative Director at the renowned Vidal Sassoon Salon in Munich, Germany prior to moving to the US and opening Spacagna Italian Hair Design with my brother in 2018.
Guido Spacagna: Ciao, sono Guido Spacanga (Hi, I am Guido Spacagna). For 25 years, I worked as a stylist and colorist throughout Italy, Europe and in New York. I have worked with many high-profile individuals including Miss Italy. I underwent extensive training at both the Vidal Sassoon and the Metodo Rossano Ferretti Academy in Parma, Italy. I also trained and worked as a stylist for Metodo Rossano Ferretti in the Maldives. In 2016, I moved from New York to Miami and finally in 2018 accomplish my dream of running my own hair salon business alongside my brother Stefano.
Both: We survived a global pandemic! That experience really tested the resilience of our business, and luckily we stuck together and came out on the other side even stronger. Businesses were closing down all over Miami, the future was unclear, but we remained hopeful and optimistic and knew that we’d come back.
Both: When you provide excellent customer service, quality, and a unique experience, your clients will come. Over the past few years, social media has become increasingly more important for businesses like ours, so we have also made that a top priority for growth as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami is an incredible city with a lot of Italian culture and artistic influence. One of our favorite areas that we would recommend visiting is the Design Direct, and two of our favorite authentic Italian restaurants are Casa Bufala and 450 Gradi. We would also, of course, encourage visiting our salon on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’d like to dedicate our shoutout to our incredible family that has always supported our business journey, our loyal clients who have been coming to our salon over the past five years, and our amazing team of Italian-trained hair stylists.
