We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Pesce Sieron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackie, every day, we talk about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started my content creation agency, Chasing Sun Creative in 2018 as a side hustle while I was working full-time in a marketing role at a luxury real estate firm in Manhattan. I was lucky to work with the top residential real estate agents who all needed their own social media help, so while I was doing marketing for the larger brand as a whole I would get asked almost daily by the real estate agents at the company if I could manage their personal social media accounts for them separate from my day job. After getting asked this for years and years, I realized what a big opportunity there was for content creation help for small brands and businesses. I couldn’t not go for it, so I created my own agency and started out in the luxury residential real estate space where my network was and where everyone needed social help!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Chasing Sun Creative really was triggered by seasonal depression that I had been dealing with during NYC winter months. Being that I’m a South Florida girl at heart, I really quite literally was craving the sunshine. One day the sun was peaking out through 2 buildings and I ran to it saying I need to literally go “chase the sun” for my mental health. That same day I started an instagram account with the idea it would become a blog called “She Chases the Sun”. This brand eventually turned into my agency “Chasing Sun Creative” and I finally caught the sun for good when we moved back down to sunny South Florida. I love to share this story because it’s the epitome of going after what you want in life, it all started with me simply standing in the sunshine to feel better and it ended up with me creating a brand around this name that’s now a whole entire business. I also like to think of chasing the sun as chasing the light and the positivity in life and I try to live by that mentality on a daily basis. I finally took the plunge and moved back to south florida leaving nyc and a corporate job, while betting on myself and making this business a real thing. I’ve learned so many lessons along the way, but one that remains top of mind is we all need to chase that positive side of life, that light, because it makes the ride so much more enjoyable. Bad things will happen, but it’s all about how we look at it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would spend the day at The One Hotel in south beach and then go to dinner at Rao’s which recently opened. I love spending time in the Grove because I’m a mom of two and everywhere is so family friendly, I definitely would start with a brunch at Sadelle’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give credit to my very first clients in the luxury real estate space who trusted me when I first launched my company, one woman in particular includes Dawn McKenna who inspired me to follow my dreams as a “mompreneur” as she was.
