We had the good fortune of connecting with Shiloh Speights and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SHILOH, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have a few interests I’d like to pursue. One of them, which I’m offering now to the world, started when I was very young. I wrote my first rhyme at the age of 7, reflecting on my father’s passing, my siblings, and my mother. No one taught me how to do this, but I kept that piece of writing in an envelope until I felt ready to let go of those emotions. When the time came, I threw it away.

At 12, I began producing music, and from then on, I never stopped creating.
In recent years, I’ve questioned whether I should release my music again, or better said, knock on the doors of the music industry.

To give it to you straight, I feel God calling upon me to do so.

So, here I am. Willing and able. Praise, the one above, God.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As I’ve shared before, my journey began at a very young age, and over the years, I’ve grown and evolved alongside it. This path has been rich with experiences, challenges, and countless lessons—so much so that summarizing it all would require a book to do it justice! Every step I’ve taken, every decision I’ve made, has added to the depth of my personal and professional growth. While I could dive into details about each chapter of this journey, I’ll save much of that context for future works where I can explore it fully and thoughtfully.

What I will say now, though, is that I see myself as more than just a person going through the motions of life. I am a spirit navigating this human experience, allowing each moment to shape me in ways that go beyond the physical or material. This perspective drives everything I do, from my creative endeavors to the way I interact with the world. Through this lens, my journey is not just about accomplishments or milestones but about deeper self-awareness, transformation, and the way I connect with others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are countless amazing places in South Florida, from hidden gems to well-known spots. Whether it’s the beaches, spots to eat, or the neighborhoods, there’s always something special.

For now, though, I’ll keep the specifics to myself. After all, you never know who’s watching or who might stumble upon this information. Sometimes, it’s nice to keep certain experiences private, allowing them to remain personal and untouched by outside curiosity.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All praise to God for everything—for preparing me for what I’ve been through and for what’s still ahead. I’m truly grateful for the people He’s placed in my life, whether the experiences were “positive” or “negative”, each one has taught me something valuable. I also thank God for my family, who are always there to uplift me through it all.

Shout out to the Almighty—whether you call Him Allah, the Universe, or by another name— all praise goes to the One above, God.
