We had the good fortune of connecting with Very Good Music Group and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Very Good, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
A major factor behind our success at VGMG is our dedication to authentic artist development. We believe in nurturing talent in a way that aligns with each artist’s unique vision, rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all approach. Our team prioritizes building genuine, long-term relationships, which helps us understand our artists’ needs and goals on a deeper level. This commitment to real partnership allows us to create impactful strategies and build their brands organically—because when artists feel supported and understood, they’re more likely to reach their full potential.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our work at Very Good Music Group is all about empowering artists to tell their own stories, which is what sets us apart. We don’t just focus on producing hits—we’re invested in developing artists with longevity, authenticity, and strong personal brands that resonate deeply with fans. The industry today is fast-moving and crowded, so we emphasize originality and a genuine connection with the audience, supporting each artist in crafting a voice that’s unmistakably theirs.

I’m most proud of the moments when we see our artists succeed on their terms, without compromising their vision. Over the years we’ve picked up numerous new talents like Dunefr, Mvnny, Raccstarr, and Baby XO. Watching their growth and seeing them each blossom into their own lanes has been the motivating factor to our drive. The journey to get here wasn’t easy. Like any worthwhile pursuit, we faced challenges in building a brand that artists can trust, especially in an industry where quick wins often outweigh meaningful career-building. We’re very well aware of people signing bad deals, getting picked up by bad management, or being deprived of their creative control once under management. At VGMG, we do things differently. We overcome these hurdles by sticking to our principles: prioritizing artist support, building a reliable and talented team, and never losing sight of why we started—to create a home where artists can thrive and not only get better but very good.

The journey has taught us the importance of resilience, flexibility, and the power of a dedicated community. One of the most valuable lessons has been to keep evolving with the industry while staying true to our values. VGMG isn’t just a label; it’s a family where artists feel at home, where they can experiment and grow without limitations. We want the world to see that we’re not just shaping careers; we’re nurturing voices that leave a lasting impact on the music industry as a whole and its culture.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’ve got guys all around so we’ve got a good lay of the cities we operate in. In the Bay, we’d hit some of the classic sights like Golden Gate Park. In Miami we would bring a whole new vibe, definitely hitting Joe’s Stone Crab and to end the night off right, experiencing the world renown Club Space.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Those we can attribute our success to would be our non stop working team members Ruben Garza, Rashad Charles, Kendrick Honoree, Jack Fentress, Zachary Matthews, Thomas Wells, Matthew Jimenez. Other thanks to organizations like Foundation Media, SoundCloud and media platforms like New Sounds First & EXIT 9 TEEN for putting our artists’ talents on display.
