Meet Leidy Marcial | Customer service./ Content creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Leidy Marcial and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leidy, what matters most to you?
Empathy is one of the most profound and essential principles that guide human connection. To me, empathy means the ability to truly understand and share the feelings of others. It’s about stepping into someone else’s shoes, seeing the world through their perspective, and responding with compassion and kindness.
Empathy is the foundation for building trust, resolving conflicts, and fostering meaningful relationships. It teaches us that every individual carries their own struggles and triumphs, and by recognizing their emotions, we create a world where everyone feels seen and valued.
For me, empathy goes beyond just understanding others; it’s about taking intentional actions to uplift those around me. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, standing up for someone in need, or simply being present, empathy drives me to make a difference. It reminds me that our shared humanity is more significant than our differences, and through empathy, we can cultivate a more compassionate and inclusive world

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Landing my job as a customer service representative for an airline during the pandemic was both unexpected and life-changing. It was one of the toughest periods of my life—uncertainty loomed everywhere, and I was struggling to find stability. Like many, I felt the weight of isolation, financial stress, and fear. Little did I know, this challenging time would lead me to a career that I would eventually fall in love with.
The opportunity came when I was at my lowest. I applied for the position, not expecting much, but I was determined to give it my best. The idea of working for an airline was exciting, yet daunting—I had no prior experience in aviation. But I believed in my ability to connect with people and remain calm under pressure, qualities essential for customer service. After a rigorous hiring process, I was offered the role. It felt like a glimmer of hope in an otherwise dark time.
Starting the job was a whirlwind. The pandemic had turned the aviation industry upside down, and as a frontline worker, I was often faced with anxious passengers, last-minute changes, and the challenge of providing excellent service under difficult circumstances. But it was here that I discovered the magic of aviation. Every day, I witnessed people embarking on journeys—some joyful, others bittersweet. I became a small part of their stories, and that connection fueled my passion.
I began to see aviation as more than just planes and schedules; it was about bringing people together, bridging distances, and creating experiences. The sound of jets taking off, the intricate coordination behind every flight, and the resilience of the industry during such a tumultuous time inspired me. What started as a job in a time of need became a calling.
Looking back, I’m grateful for that difficult period because it introduced me to a world I hadn’t considered before. Falling in love with aviation taught me the importance of adaptability, empathy, and the power of human connection—values I carry with me every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from the Dominican Republic, so I would take her to visit the most beautiful beaches in Samaná and Bayahibe in La Romana. For dinner, we’d enjoy magical evenings in the Colonial Zone, and on Sundays, live bands to add rhythm to the night. This way, her week-long trip would be unforgettable, and she’d definitely want to come back.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
