We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to take my passion for fitness and health and use it to push others to be their best. I wanted flexibility in my life and to be able to work freely without being tied to a specific schedule. I wanted to help others learn what I wish I had known when I first started out on my fitness journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

After beginning her academic journey at the University of Florida, Annie transferred to Florida Atlantic University, where she excelled in Division 1 track and field while earning a degree in Marketing and a minor in Communications.
While in college, Annie founded Tune Into Fitness, a personal training and nutrition business, which she successfully scaled both online and in-person, helping thousands of clients improve their health and wellness.
Building on this experience, she launched Fitccessory, a fitness equipment brand she trademarked and manufactured. The brand caught the attention of major retailers, with products being acquired by Walmart and GNC. She also has broadcasting experience, particularly in sports, which led her to collaborate with various brands through social media and modeling.

Annie helps identify small businesses for acquisition, builds financial models, reviews financial statements, and meets with clients to strategize on growth.
Additionally, Annie has contributed articles to top publications like Shape, Oxygen, and Women’s Health Magazine, where she provided expert advice and marketing insights. Throughout her career, Annie has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to entrepreneurship, business growth, and making a positive impact across multiple industries.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Miami, there are tons of hidden gems and of course the local spots that everyone goes to!
I’d start out with a Barrys Bootcamp class early in the morning followed by a short walk or jog along the path right in front of the beach that passes all the beachfront hotels and restaurants. After, I’d take my friend to Maman or Pura Vida for a quick breakfast and a coffee. Next, I’d go rent either a jetski, wakeboard or paddle board and get out on the water. There are tons of little islands you can pull your paddle board to or jetski and hop off to relax on the sand and have some snacks. After that, I’d take them to design district to walk around and do some shopping before going home to get ready for dinner. I’d have drinks at soho house or at the 1 hotel rooftop before going to dinner at either the Setai or Smith & Wolensky. After that, we’d go listen to some music at Miami Sound Bar or find a fun evening event happening.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
