Meet Nel Vila | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nel Vila and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nel, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For me, pursuing an artistic career was never really a choice—it was a calling. Growing up in a creative household, with my sister and brother playing instruments, I naturally fell in love with music. At just four years old, I started playing the violin and painting, and from that moment, art became an essential part of my life. Expressing myself through music and visual art has always felt instinctive, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. Creativity fuels my passion, and I love the way it connects people, tells stories, and brings emotions to life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m still in the process of discovering myself and finding my unique way to stand out in the industry. My clothing line, my team, and my career as an artist are all growing, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful to God. In the near future, I plan to officially launch my clothing line—I’ve always loved sewing and painting, creating unique pieces for my shows and music videos. Fashion, like music, is another way I express my creativity, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.
I also want to take this opportunity to announce the upcoming release of my new song, “Daiquiri.” The cover art is ready, and we are currently working on the video. Stay tuned and look for Nel Vila on YouTube and Spotify—you won’t want to miss it!
My journey has been anything but easy. Moving from Venezuela to Argentina and finally making it to the U.S. was a dream come true, but it required resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering belief in myself. Through every challenge, I’ve learned that perseverance is key—no matter how hard it gets, you have to keep pushing forward and never give up on your dreams.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that everything I do comes from passion and dedication. Whether it’s my music, fashion, or art, I strive to create something meaningful and unique. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited for what’s to come!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I would make sure they had the best experience, exploring the most beautiful and exciting spots in Miami.
We’d start with a scenic walk through Margaret Pace Park and Venetian Way, taking in the stunning waterfront views. I also love spending time at Key Biscayne Beach, especially riding my motorcycle there at sunset—it’s truly breathtaking.
For food, one of my favorite spots is Doce Provisions, where we’d enjoy incredible Cuban flavors in a cozy setting. For a more laid-back evening, we’d head to Lagniappe, a hidden gem with an amazing atmosphere, live jazz music, and an excellent selection of wines.
Of course, no trip to Miami would be complete without exploring Wynwood, an artistic hub filled with stunning murals, galleries, and creative energy. The area has an incredible vibe, perfect for immersing in Miami’s art scene and nightlife.
Throughout the week, we’d balance beach days, great food, music, and artistic inspiration—ensuring an unforgettable Miami experience!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with talent and guiding me on the right path. Despite a challenging childhood growing up in Venezuela with just my mom, I never stopped believing in myself. I truly believe that you can become whatever you want and that there are always choices in life. My mom was my biggest supporter, and I am incredibly grateful for all the sacrifices she made for me.
When it comes to my inspiration for pursuing urban music, it was the legendary artist Vico C. He was one of the first to bring a different approach to urban music, standing out from traditional salsa and merengue. His songs weren’t just for dancing—they carried a more realistic and profound perspective on life, which deeply resonated with me.
