Today we’re excited to be connecting with Melissa Mcintosh again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Melissa, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Hi, I’m Melissa, and I’m a holistic wellness coach specializing in helping women over 40 find balance, improve their health, and manage stress. My brand is built around empowering women in this life stage to prioritize their well-being, both physically and mentally.
I work with my clients on emotional eating, stress management, and creating sustainable, healthy habits—everything from personalized nutrition plans to mindful exercise and mindset shifts. What sets me apart is my unique blend of qualifications: I have a master’s degree in psychology, a certification in holistic nutrition, and I’m on the road to becoming a certified personal trainer. This combination helps me take a truly holistic approach, supporting the mind-body connection while focusing on real-life solutions for women who often feel overwhelmed by their responsibilities and health struggles.
The journey to where I am today started with my own struggles with health and wellness. Over time, I realized the importance of self-care and the challenges women face especially in their 40s and beyond. I wanted to help women reconnect with themselves, overcome stress, and create healthier, happier lives.
Today, I focus on helping my clients achieve a lifestyle that supports their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. I’m passionate about making wellness accessible, especially for women who are juggling so many aspects of life. My ultimate goal is to give women the tools they need to feel empowered, balanced, and strong, no matter what stage of life they’re in.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Since we last connected, things have definitely been interesting, but in the best way possible. I have recently taken some time off to focus on my health, I’m recovering from a vertebral artery dissection, so I’ve had to make some adjustments to my routine—especially with exercise. But the silver lining has been the opportunity to really tune into what my body needs and to prioritize rest, stress management, and nutrition in a way I hadn’t before.
I’m really excited to be getting back into the swing of things, with a renewed focus on how I can support women in their health journeys—especially those who are in their 40s, like myself, and juggling multiple responsibilities. One of the things I’m most excited about is creating more content that’s relatable to women who are in a similar place in their lives, helping them understand the importance of balance, self-care, and managing stress, and that it’s never too late to start fresh.
On the business side, I’ve been brainstorming ideas for digital products, including a potential self-guided program, and I’m also making progress with my book. Writing has been something I’ve been passionate about, and I’m focusing on how I can integrate nutritional psychology and emotional eating into a resource that resonates with women over 40.
It’s definitely been a time of reflection and recalibration, but it’s also been exciting to see how things are shaping up.

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
When it comes to making difficult choices, I try to approach them with a mindset of balance and alignment with my values. For me, it’s about assessing what truly matters in the moment and how that decision will impact my long-term well-being, both personally and professionally.
One key aspect of my thought process is taking the time to pause and reflect before jumping to a decision (some call that being indecisive  ) but, I believe in listening to my intuition and taking into account my physical, mental, and emotional health. In times of uncertainty, I ask myself questions like: What will bring me closer to my goals? What aligns with my core values? and How will this choice affect me long term?
I also lean on the importance of self-compassion when making difficult decisions. Life often presents us with situations where there’s no “perfect” choice, and sometimes, a decision will require me to prioritize one aspect of my life over another, whether that’s work, family, or self-care. In those moments, I remind myself that I can always reassess if needed. It’s not about perfection; it’s about progress and being okay with making the best choice with the information I have at the time.
When it comes to my work with clients, I apply this same philosophy of balance and alignment. I encourage them to trust themselves and take small, manageable steps toward their goals, even if it means making tough choices. Over time, those small decisions add up to bigger, positive changes, and that’s where the real transformation happens.
