Meet Yaqoob Sheikh | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yaqoob Sheikh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yaqoob, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea for Ace Photobooth Rentals came from a combination of passion, opportunity, and a desire to build something of my own. I’ve always loved seeing people capture joyful moments, and I noticed how much excitement a photobooth brings to events—whether it’s a wedding, birthday, or corporate gathering. It’s more than just taking pictures; it’s about creating lasting memories.
At the same time, I realized there was a growing demand for fun, interactive entertainment options at events. That’s when the spark really hit—I could turn this into a business that not only brings people joy but also gives me the freedom and flexibility to build something meaningful. I wanted to offer a modern, high-quality photobooth experience that felt both professional and personal.
Starting Ace Photobooth Rentals was a leap of faith, but it was also a strategic decision. I knew I could fill a niche in the market by combining technology, creativity, and excellent customer service. And so far, it’s been incredibly rewarding.

What should our readers know about your business?
My journey to this point has been anything but easy. I started working when I first came to America at just 14 years old. From a young age, I learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance. I worked different jobs, pushed through challenges, and always kept a mindset focused on growth. Today, I’m proud to say I not only run Ace Photobooth Rentals, but also maintain a full-time job. It hasn’t been easy balancing both, but it’s proof that with discipline, consistency, and passion—you can do both and be successful.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come, and how many people I’ve made smile through my work. The business has grown through word of mouth, returning clients, and vendor partnerships—proof that when you deliver value and treat people right, they’ll come back.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that your background doesn’t define your future—your drive does. I want people to know that no matter where you start, you can build something meaningful with dedication and heart. Ace Photobooth Rentals isn’t just about photos—it’s about celebrating moments, embracing the grind, and proving that dreams do come true with hustle and faith.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the best of what Miami and Fort Lauderdale have to offer—sun, flavor, culture, and unforgettable vibes.
Day 1: South Beach Vibes
We’d kick things off at South Beach, soaking in the iconic Art Deco scenery, clear blue water, and vibrant atmosphere. We’d grab lunch at a beachfront restaurant and stroll Ocean Drive before heading to a rooftop lounge for dinner with a view.
Day 2: Parks & Peace
This day would be all about reconnecting with nature. We’d explore some of the area’s best parks—like Oleta River State Park or Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale—for kayaking, biking, or just relaxing in the greenery. We’d wrap up the day with a cozy dinner at a local hidden gem restaurant.
Day 3: Key West Road Trip
We’d hit the road early and take a scenic drive down to Key West. Along the way, we’d stop at spots like the Seven Mile Bridge and grab some fresh seafood. Once in Key West, we’d explore Duval Street, catch the sunset at Mallory Square, and enjoy the island energy before heading back.
Day 4: Local Eats & Culture
This would be a foodie and culture day. We’d explore the flavors of Little Havana, Wynwood, and Las Olas—trying Cuban sandwiches, street tacos, and craft desserts. We’d visit the Wynwood Walls for some amazing art and then end the day at a chill local hookah spot or dessert lounge.
Day 5: Water Adventures
Jet skiing, boat rides, or maybe even a snorkeling tour—this day would be all about the water. Miami and FLL have no shortage of options to get out and enjoy the ocean. Dinner would be somewhere with live music and great seafood.
Day 6: Downtown Fun
We’d explore downtown Miami—check out Brickell, Bayside Marketplace, and maybe hop on a boat tour of Millionaire’s Row. For dinner, we’d try one of the city’s top-rated spots with a view, then go out for a little nightlife experience.
Day 7: Relax & Reflect
For the final day, we’d slow it down with a relaxing brunch, visit a spa or beachside café, and spend some time just reflecting on the trip. Maybe take some last-minute photos, enjoy the breeze, and plan the next time we’ll meet again.
Every day would be about mixing relaxation, adventure, great food, and even better company—because that’s what Miami and Fort Lauderdale are all about.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are definitely a few people and groups I owe a big shoutout to. First and foremost, my family has been my rock throughout this journey—their constant support, encouragement, and belief in me kept me going, especially during the early stages when things were uncertain.
Success is never a solo journey, and I’m truly grateful for everyone who’s been part of mine.
