We had the good fortune of connecting with Mayberling Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mayberling, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was both a personal and purposeful decision. As a Latina mom living in the U.S., I saw firsthand the challenges of raising children in a new country while trying to stay true to our values and heritage. I wanted to create something that not only allowed me to be present for my children but also inspired other women—especially moms—to pursue their dreams.

With Familia Supi, we began sharing authentic moments of family life online, and soon realized the power of connection and storytelling. That grew into a platform with millions of followers who feel seen and supported. Then, with my personal brand @peromedicenmay, I expanded into lifestyle and wellness content, showing my journey as a mom who embraces conscious living.

Finally, Supitowel was born from a very real need: my daughter had sensitive skin, and I couldn’t find baby towels that were soft, eco-friendly, and safe. So I created one. All of my projects are connected by a mission—to serve families with honesty, creativity, and heart.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is rooted in storytelling, connection, and authenticity. Familia Supi started as a simple way to share our family life, and today it is a digital brand that reaches millions across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. What sets us apart is our realness—we are a Latino family in the U.S. showing the joyful, chaotic, and beautiful moments of parenting and the everyday life. People don’t just follow us for entertainment—they stay because they feel seen and understood.

I’m also the founder of Supitowel, a bamboo towel brand designed for babies and children with sensitive skin. That product was born out of personal need and my commitment to using eco-friendly, toxin-free products for my family. It’s a small business, but one filled with purpose and heart.

Through @peromedicenmay, my personal brand, I also share lifestyle content for moms who want to live more consciously—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. That includes natural products, wellness habits, and the behind-the-scenes of motherhood and entrepreneurship.

Getting here has definitely not been easy. I started from scratch—no investors, no big team—just passion, consistency, and community. I’ve faced burnout, rejection, and plenty of doubts. But I kept showing up. I learned that success takes time, and you have to stay aligned with your “purpose.”

What I want the world to know is: You don’t need to be perfect to be powerful. I built everything while raising my kids, growing my marriage, and navigating a new country. I believe in showing the real journey—not just the highlight reel—and that’s what makes our brand resonate so deeply with others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I wouldn’t just show them the tourist spots—I’d show them what it really feels like to live in the U.S. as a Latina mom with two kids and no family nearby.

We’d start the week doing what I normally do: taking the kids to a free local park where they can run around while we catch up on life. Maybe later we’d go to an indoor play space—those are lifesavers when you’re raising little ones without a support system.

Of course, we’d spend a day at the beach or pool, because that’s the beauty of living in Florida—we get sunshine therapy almost all year round. It’s one of the ways I recharge.

I’d take them to eat real Latin comfort food—like arepas, cachapas, or Cuban cafecito—because when you live far from your country, food becomes your closest connection to home. But I’d also show them the local flavor: maybe brunch at a classic American diner or trying something new and trendy just for fun.

We’d talk about motherhood, entrepreneurship, the dreams we still have—and the chaos that comes with balancing it all. I’d show them that this life, even with all its challenges, is beautiful in its own way.

And at some point, I’d make sure we do something just for us: maybe a little spa moment, a solo walk, or just staying up late talking like old times. Because more than anything, I’d want them to feel what this journey has been like for me—not just from the outside, but from the inside too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely—my journey wouldn’t be what it is today without the love and support of my family. First, my husband Rendy has been my biggest cheerleader and creative partner. From day one, he believed in my vision and has played an essential role behind the scenes of our content, often juggling multiple roles as a dad, videographer, and idea generator.

I also owe a huge shoutout to my daughter Marcella. She’s the heart of Familia Supi, and the reason we started creating content in the first place. Her natural charisma and curiosity have inspired countless families to connect with us, and now with the arrival of our baby boy Luciano, our family’s story continues to evolve.

Beyond my immediate family, I want to recognize the amazing community of moms and women entrepreneurs who have cheered me on and shared their own stories. Their messages, comments, and encouragement have kept me going during the tough days.

And lastly, I’ll always credit the women in my family—especially my mom—for showing me what resilience looks like. I carry their strength and legacy in everything I do.
