We had the good fortune of connecting with Wedly Altidor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wedly, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
At its core, my work as a DJ is about bringing people together. Whether it’s a packed-out club, a wedding, or a community event, music creates connection—and I see that as a real contribution. I’ve used my platform to support local causes, mentor up-and-coming DJs, and create inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome. I’m intentional about playing diverse sounds that reflect different cultures and voices. My business helps build culture and community—both on and off the dance floor. Through my hospitality collective, FLAVAR, I help create intentional spaces that bring people together—whether it’s through curated events, food, or music. Everything I do is rooted in connection and impact. It’s about making sure people feel seen, heard, and inspired—especially in the communities that raised me. For me, it’s not just about spinning records—it’s about creating moments that uplift people and make the world feel a little more united, one set at a time.

In the past, I have partnered with our local children’s bookstore, Rohi’s Readery, to offer kids an interactive DJ presentation, giving them a chance to see music as both expression and empowerment.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For me, DJing is more than just mixing songs—it’s storytelling. I treat every set like a mood board, blending genres, cultures, and eras to create something that feels fresh but familiar. I don’t chase trends—I study them, bend them, and remix them into something that reflects my own lane. What sets me apart is the intention behind everything I do. Whether I’m playing a club set, curating a FLAVAR event, or dropping a mix online, it’s always rooted in feeling, energy, and connection.

The road here definitely wasn’t easy. Breaking into this industry takes a lot more than talent—it takes patience, consistency, and the ability to take a few Ls without folding. I’ve dealt with gatekeeping, burnout, and moments of doubt. But I kept showing up, I kept evolving, and I leaned into community instead of competition.

What I’m most proud of is staying true to my style while still growing with the times. I’ve been doing this long enough to be called a vet, but I still approach every set like I’ve got something to prove—in a good way.

If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s that I lead with intention. It’s not just about being the loudest in the room—it’s about being the most impactful. I’m here to entertain, yes—but also to inspire, connect, and shift culture in my own way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week in West Palm Beach, we’d make sure every day had flavor, fun, and a little something unexpected.

We’d kick things off with brunch at Hullabaloo or Avocado Grill—can’t beat the energy or the menus. After that, maybe a stroll down Clematis Street and City Place, checking out the local shops and grabbing a quick espresso at Subculture Coffee. I’d want them to feel the heartbeat of downtown early on.

Daytime, we might hit the beach or head out to the Norton Museum of Art—gotta tap into the creative side. And for nature vibes, Mounts Botanical Garden is a must, or a paddleboarding session at Peanut Island if we’re trying to move.

At night, the plan’s always music-forward. If I’m playing or throwing a FLAVAR event, obviously that’s the move—but if not, I’d take them to 123 Datura, Banko Cantina, or Clematis Social for some nightlife flavor, or maybe something more chill like Lost Weekend for arcade games and conversation.

Midweek, we’d pull up to Zipitios for tacos, Grato or The French Grille for dinner, then go rooftop at Spruzzo for the views. If there’s a local event, art walk, or pop-up market going down, we’re there. I always like to show people that WPB has culture and energy—they just have to know where to look.

West Palm Beach has its own lane—vibrant, evolving, and full of soul—and by the time they head out, they’d get why I never sleep on it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Big shoutout to the FLAVAR team—we’ve built something that’s rooted in culture, intention, and community. I also want to show love to the folks who make nightlife run: every DJ, promoter, and creative I’ve crossed paths with over the years—you’ve all shaped my journey. I wouldn’t be here without that energy and support. And the GMs, venue owners, bartenders, barbacks, and security teams. Y’all are the heartbeat of the scene, and I’ve learned a lot just being in those rooms with you. And of course, my friends, family, and day-ones who’ve supported this journey from the start—your energy keeps me grounded and growing. Shout to South Florida for shaping me. Blessed to live where the world vacations.
