We had the good fortune of connecting with Jodi Walsh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jodi, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At Pivot to Purpose, our mission is to make mental health care accessible, compassionate, and empowering. We serve individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and reproductive mental health, with a focus on meeting people where they are and providing tools they can use beyond the therapy room. By creating a safe, inclusive space for healing and growth, we help strengthen individuals, which in turn strengthens families and communities. Our work not only supports emotional wellness, but also breaks down stigma around mental health, encouraging more people to seek the care they deserve.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my career as a hospital and medical social worker and honestly thought that was where my professional journey would end. But after seven years of clinical licensure, I felt called to branch out and take the leap into private practice. That leap became Pivot to Purpose, a multi-state psychotherapy practice.

Getting here was far from easy. Starting a business meant stepping into areas I had never navigated before such as marketing, operations, compliance, and leadership, all while continuing to show up fully for my clients. There were moments of doubt, but I leaned on my faith, my mentors, and my support system to keep moving forward. I learned quickly that asking for help is not a weakness, that clarity comes with action, and that resilience is built one challenge at a time.

Today, I am most proud that Pivot to Purpose is not just surviving, but growing and making a real difference in people’s lives. I want the world to know that my brand was built from a genuine desire to serve and empower others. My story is one of faith, mentorship, and the belief that purpose can be found when you are willing to take a leap, even when you cannot see the whole path ahead.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Fort Lauderdale for a week, I would make sure we had the perfect mix of great food, beautiful scenery, and unique experiences. For lunch one day, we would head to Beach House in Pompano Beach for fresh, flavorful food and stunning ocean views. Nothing beats enjoying a great meal while looking out at the water.

Since Pompano Beach is the closest beach to my home and one of my favorites, we would definitely spend a relaxed day there soaking up the sun. I would also find a mindfulness or sound bath event on Eventbrite, preferably one floating or one right on the beach, so we could unwind and connect with the moment in a truly peaceful setting.

Midweek, we would take a quick trip to Wynwood for the vibes, a mix of art, music, and fun energy, maybe grabbing bites from local food spots and enjoying live music or street performances.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to two incredible women who have played a pivotal role in my journey: Delphine Gervais, owner of Breakthrough Care and Resource, and Anse Daniel, owner of Enrichment Support Services. Pivot to Purpose would not exist without their honest mentorship, transparency, and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences with me. They have been sounding boards, cheerleaders, and truth-tellers, and their guidance has shaped not just my business but the way I lead.

I also want to thank God, because every step of this journey has been grounded in faith. From opening doors I did not even know existed, to giving me the strength, wisdom, and perseverance to keep going when things got hard, my faith has been the foundation. Pivot to Purpose is not just a business; it is part of a calling to serve and support others, and I know that calling comes from Him.

Finally, I want to thank my partner for being a constant sounding board, offering unwavering support, and encouraging me every step of the way.
