Meet Anastasia Zaichenko | Musician/ bass player

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anastasia Zaichenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anastasia, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Never give up. Believe in yourself, believe in God, trust the process. Just do it with a pure heart and love for your gift. When I’m feel down , I just take a break and do what I feel like doing at that moment. We all have a gift, so we must show it to the world, because remember, you, too, are an inspiration.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Anastasiia , people call me Ana, and you can find me on social media as “AZonbass.” I’m originally from Ukraine, based in South Florida.
I’ve been playing music since I was 10. My first instrument was the acoustic guitar, and I later picked up the bass. I’m grateful to my home country for providing me with a solid foundation for pursuing my passion. It was also a huge help when I moved to the US and began what I consider to be my new path.
When I moved to USA I faced many challenges. It was a completely different world for me: language barrier, the mentality, the approach to the work , and , of course a high level of musicians.
A huge thank you to all the Florida musicians I’ve had the opportunity to play with and work with on a daily basis. They are incredible and talented people.
I had the opportunity to perform on the same stage with such famous names as Karol G, Bobby Valentino, Baby Cham, Ball Greezy, Julio Iglesias Jr Fantasia, the stage group Christina Aguilera and other well known artists.
Now I’m increasingly focusing on developing my playing in churches. As a beliver It’s an incredible opportunity to serve God with my gift. And, of course, for me, it’s simply the highest expression of music. The freedom, the moments of flight, inspire and reveal you from all sides.
I want to express my gratitude to Hollywood City Mission Church, my first church here in South Florida, Power House Miami, for staying together from day one. Letter Rain Worship Center it’s a family there . And New Hope Missionary Church in which I have the honor to serve now. and many others with whom I have had the opportunity to share a ministry.
Also, being a woman in a rather male environment, since my instrument is more in demand among men, I have encountered situations where I absolutely have to prove that I have enough character to be a professional, where there is no room for weakness. I’m very glad to see that there are more and more female bass guitarists, drummers, etc. That’s amazing.
Now, after some time, I can say that the main thing is to be open to new opportunities, not be afraid to make mistakes, and learn from others. I’ve been very lucky to meet amazing, talented people along my professional path, which has undoubtedly helped me grow musically.
It’s also important not to build barriers in your head. Remember that more often than not, we don’t see in ourselves what others see in us. Don’t be self-critical. At the end of the day, if you do your job honestly, it resonates in the hearts of others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
