Meet JESUS MARTINEZ | ORTHODONTIST

We had the good fortune of connecting with JESUS MARTINEZ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi JESUS, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe my success comes down to one word: Passion.
I have been serving Miami families since 2000, and I don’t just treat teeth; I treat people.
While I am obsessive about keeping up to date with the newest treatment methods to ensure the best results, the true heartbeat of my practice is the personable treatment we provide. We strive to make our office feel less like a clinic and more like a supportive community for both children and adults. When you treat patients with kindness and professionalism, business success naturally follows.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the founder of Martinez Orthodontics, a family-oriented practice where I take pride in providing superb personal care directly to my patients.
I am a native of Puerto Rico and I have known that I wanted to be an orthodontist since I was 13 years old. I was always a dedicated student, and it was my passion for medicine and helping children—combined with my natural artistic abilities—that guided me to choose this specialty.
Getting to where I am today required perseverance. I started as a general dentist and served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps for four years to gain experience before completing my specialty training at Columbia University.
My biggest hurdle was the transition of working in a new country and city while trying to save the capital to start a business. To overcome this, I worked for a company for five years to get settled, which allowed me to eventually open my own practice.
The number one lesson I have learned along the way is that if you work hard and treat people with professionalism and kindness, your business will flourish. I want the world to know that my practice is built on that foundation of genuine care.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I would want them to experience the full spectrum of what Miami has to offer—from the luxury to the local culture.
We would certainly spend time on the water; renting a boat or jet skis is the best way to see the beautiful Miami skyline. Of course, no trip is complete without some time relaxing on the beach. For a change of pace, we would head to Wynwood to take in the incredible art scene.
For dining and nightlife, we would mix it up. We would explore Brickell to try the new, fancy restaurants, but for a more authentic experience, I would take them to Kendall and South Miami. That is where you find the true heart of the Latin community culture and some excellent local restaurants. We would also head to Calle 8 for that distinct Latin flair and dancing.
Finally, if the season is right, we would definitely catch a Miami Heat or Marlins game to soak up the city’s energy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to the families here in Kendall, Miami. A sincere thank you for your continued trust in me all these years. It is an honor to serve this community, and your support is what allows us to keep doing what we love.
