Meet Neyza Diaz

We had the good fortune of connecting with Neyza Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Neyza, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
From the start I knew I wanted to build something that honored how children learn best through play. I believe early learning is not a check list of skills but a rich, playful process where curiosity, language, and social confidence grow naturally. That belief shaped every decision I made about curriculum, space, and daily routines.
My work is driven by a deep love for little minds. I find joy in watching a child’s face light up when they solve a problem, try a new word, or invent a game. That pushed me to create an environment where each child feels safe to explore, make mistakes, and discover their strengths at their own pace.
The business itself came to life when an unexpected opportunity knocked in 2019. It felt like a dream come true-everything I’d imagined about nurturing young learners finally had a doorway. Since then, I’ve focused on turning that vision into a warm, play-based program that supports families and celebrates the wonder of every childhood.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I spent over 20 years in the commercial insurance industry specializing in insurance management, loss control, and ensuring businesses met state compliance requirements. In 2019 when I purchased the center, shifting my career from risk management to early learning leadership had to be done! I started getting my basics and then specializing in other fields. Some of my trainings includes,: The National Administrator’s Credentials Including Texas Directors Credentials, Certified ChildCare Professional, Florida Child Care Professional Credentials, Directors Credentials With Trauma and VPK Endorsements, Best Practice In Inclusive Early Childhood Education, National Early Childhood Accreditation with the NECPA Commission, and lastly Kindermusik Credentials.
We are where we are today professionally through hard work and dedication. All of our teachers including myself, never stop growing professionally, we try our best to keep up with what works and new learning habits. When COVID hit, we were facing the same challenges many corporations had, it was sad to have had to experience such bad times, however, we were able to provide the services to our first responders and thanks to them we were still able to manage this dream to stay alive. Today, I have learned that if you keep persisting, innovating yourself, educating families and having a clear vision of what you offer, everything becomes a bit easier.
Happy Family Learning Center, we don’t just teach- we celebrate. We honor milestones, support bilingual families, and create a joyful, inclusive space where every child can shine. If you are looking for a place that feels like family and prepares your little ones for a bright future, we’d love to welcome you here.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our city is filled with so many interesting cultures. But if I have to go to a place in specific it would be Key West. It is a small city reflecting happiness no matter where you go. The restaurants, the cultures, the water sports, the music, to me it is an area that includes a little bit of everything and it is reach in history, architecture, and stunning sunsets.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Owning and growing this business has been a dream come true, and our success is direct result of the efforts, support, mentorship, love, and encouragement of our incredible team. Their dedication to young learners, professionalism, and daily care make our play-based vision a reality. Mrs. Teresa Serret, VPK Teacher, her dedication and professionalism brings steady leadership and a deep commitment to preparing our little minds for the crossover to Kindergarten. Her thoughtful planning and high standards ensure each child leaves ready, confident, and excited for the next step. Mrs. Yolanda Albernas, PREK 3. Her experience and intuition, with over 16 years of childhood field, Mrs. Yolanda offers a rare blend of expertise, and developmental knowledge that enriches every classroom moment and supports each child’s growth. Mrs. Rosario Mendoza, brings her unconditional love to our toddler’s class, backed by her early childhood licensure and masters of Neuro-Psychopedagogy, and 16 years of experience in early education. Her warmth and skills create a secure, stimulating environment for our youngest learners. Mrs. Magalys Aguilar. As our infant teacher and very own personal chef, brings over 17 years of experience in infant care. Her warm, consistent interactions build secure attachments and provide the nurturing foundation infants need to thrive. I am deeply grateful to each of these remarkable professionals. Their passion and teamwork are the heart of our program and the reason our dream-opened in 2019 continues to flourish.
