Meet Simonie Hugue: Actress, singer, and writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Simonie Hugue and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simonie, why did you pursue a creative career?
Honestly, I can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I knew once I stepped on the stage, there was no other place I wanted to be. On top of that, I grew up around music (singers and musicians) plus creative writing. All of those elements around me and a deep passion that developed over time led to me pursuing my creative career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an actress, singer, writer, acting coach….now vlogger! I also dabbled in directing and look forward to doing more, along with producing. I’m proud of the fact that I had the opportunity to be a part of amazing productions and work with super talented, creative, inspirational people. There were times that I wanted to give up, but I’m grateful for the people God placed in my circle to encourage and motivate me. I learned that if a space doesn’t exist…create your own! Not only do I plan on creating more opportunities for myself, but for others as well. I hope that people can relate to my stories and characters and it motivates them to keep moving forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many great places to visit in South Florida. Between Dade and Broward county, there are countless beaches, restaurants, water parks, shops, galleries and other places for entertainment…did I say beaches????

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jesus, my husband, my parents, my siblings, my extended family, my mentors and teachers, my friends and loved ones
