We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt Sweetwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My work life balance hasn’t changed over time because I don’t believe in the concept. We have things we need to accomplish in life. Balance in meaningless as the way to success is to simply accomplish all those tasks. I was a single dad (and sole parent) of five little children and was the CEO of a company that underwent numerous reinventions to survive. I had to care for my children and had to manage that business with 100+ lives depending on me. I had to keep myself in good physical condition to manage all the stress as well as complete all that was needed on a day-to-day basis. Work life balance is irrelevant. What is relevant is keeping yourself well-organized, in great physical shape, so you have maximum energy, and prioritizing all you must do to find maximum success and have a big life in the process.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Come to Miami and enjoy: Day 1: Head to the beach: My favorite would be the natural beach on Key Biscayne. Most tourists don’t know about it and it was famously used as a set in Amazon’s hit show, Ms. Maisel. Day 2; A trip to the unforgettable Vizcaya and then a dinner close by at the brand-new Bellini’s in Coconut Grove. Day 3; Enjoy a stroll through the Design District, with its exclusive stores and then Head over to Wynnewood for dinner at any one of the trendy locales. Day 4: Golf and Dinner at the iconic Biltmore in Coral gables. Architecture and a Donald Ross designed course Day 5: Head over to Miami beach and rent out a enclosed poolside bed at the Fontainebleau and the head over to dinner at the impeccable Four Seasons Surfside. Day 6: Head to South beach, rent some bikes and ride the ocean walk. Dinner at the iconic Joe’s Crab Shack. Day 7: A visit to the Perez Art Museum and a walk around Bayfront Park and the Grab dinner at one of the amazing dines in Center City: Cipriani, Ill Gabbiano, Novikov, etc…

I give a loving shout out to my five amazing and successful adult children who inspired me to write my #1 best-selling book, Leader of the Pack: How a single dad of 5, led his kids, his business and himself from disaster to success.
