We had the good fortune of connecting with Naty & Michelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naty & Michelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
During the pandemic we both dedicated our time to think of how we can contribute to the global environmental crisis. Having children who constantly outgrow clothing the solution was simple. A children’s consignment store. It was a business that a addressed the topic of sustainability. Also It cater to today’s shopper who is smart and is looking for a great deal. Buying second hand not only reduces the amount of clothing in our landfills, it extends the shelf life of these items but it also our prices are the best part of all 50 to 60% off retail price! 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a children’s consignment store located between Miami Shores and Biscayne Park that was conceived during this current pandemic. We had a lot of time to come up with a business that addressed the needs of our community. We are both very committed to environmental causes and wanted to create a space for the community to come and shop, resell and have a chat. Our goal is to extend the shelf life of the clothing, toys and books we sell to prevent them from unnecessarily ending in a landfill. Our incentive is to offer 40% of the sales price to our consignors. While offering having amazing selection and prices in-store and online. Also, we have a deep commitment to our community; every month we donate unsold items to local organizations that support women and children in distress. We are very excited to be able to educate our community. As we have found out that “Consignment” is a concept unknown to most. Locally, we do not have the culture of buying second and bringing this up to people’s attention has been the most rewarding part of all. The lack of knowledge was also contributed to the fact that we are now the only consignment store in this side of town. Besides, providing a space for our clients to have a chat and being able to escape the home schooling and the tedious chores that the lock-down has brought. We have become a safe space for them to exchange ideas and have and fun conversations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love to support local businesses mostly in our area. Downtown Miami Shores is our favorite pace to shop and Dine. A Day in Downtown Miami Shores will look like this: Lunch: Carrot Express (our current infatuation) Coffee: Tinta y Cafe Dessert: Mima Market (we love their assortment of baked goods and ice creams) Shopping: A little souvenir from Pebble and Vine (best plant store ever) Wine & Dine: there are a few options Sins or Amaranthine We could also finish the day with a nice stroll around the stunning streets of the Design District. And have some “Adult Ice Cream at Aubi & Ramsa”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We couldn’t have done this by ourselves. We had the love and support of our families and friends. Special shoutout to our Loving Husbands for pickup up the work at home while we are at the store taking care of all the finishing details. We also have to mention our contractor who was just wonderful and fulfilled all our requests with a smile! We also had the special support of some magical friends that created amazing things for us to sell at the store. Special thanks to Vanesa Farfan who made an exclusive line of mask holders and jewelry for us. Sonia Reisin from Olsuss made a kids collection of soaps and Susana Betancourt created a personalize Lip balms for the little ones. We cannot forget Matias Duchoony from Castingland who designed a magical Filter for our Instagram account. Thank you all for supporting us from the very beginning.
