We had the good fortune of connecting with jocelyn castillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi jocelyn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I unknowingly started my business while I was in college. I had already 6+ years as a photographer and it was only when I switched the camera to share not just travels, lifestyle, but personal growth did I realize I had built a community that supported my blog.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My blog is about encouraging women to travel, challenge themselves past their comfort zones, and most importantly for all women to discover the beauty in being a woman. I want us all to follow our inner wanderlust, our curiosities, to remain resilient, and for us to eloquently define our purpose. Through my blog, I hope to inspire women to pridefully express themselves through their craft or fashion style to show the world we love the bodies we are in. Though the growth of any business comes with pain and discomfort, I think any tribulation has been worth it for my blog to be recognized in my community. I think the best way to overcome a challenge is by going through it and understanding the why. It may sound cliche but as for lessons learned in the past 4+ years of being a content creator, I would say not quitting but taking rest is the way to go. Overworking is not healthy, so having some ‘me time’ and ‘rest time’ is important for any business owner.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the beaches of Biscayne in Miami, You can find me there quite often.Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
