Meet Anniesha McDonald: Owner of Ann-LASH Beauty Bar

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anniesha McDonald and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anniesha, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I opened my Business Ann-LASH Beauty Bar during the height of a global Pandemic. My grand opening was scheduled for March 14th, 2020; however, the nation was under complete lockdown. During the days of quarantine, I worked on my social media presence. I posted safety and sanitation content at least three times a day as well as interacted with my fellow followers. Social media was a breeze due to the fact I had nothing but time on my hands. Once the state of Florida opened back up, I took a part time job as an instructor teaching skincare. Between trying to gain new Clientele as well as making lesson plans many of my days were spent drained. To maintain work life balance, I have adapted block off days in my schedule. During this block out time period, I spend time with family, prepare my meals for the week, and catch up on Netflix worthy binge watching. I have come a long way of having hours to like posts and Tik Tok. I am forever grateful for the overflow in work, for if I have learned one thing from weeks of quarantining, it is extremely important to align your psyche so you are able to “Show up and Show Out”.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ann-LASH Beauty Bar is an upscale Beauty Bar offering services in Mink Eyelash Extensions, Deep Pore Cleaning Facials, Hydro Facials, Dermaplaning, Sugaring Hair Removal, Vaginal Steaming, services extend to in person classes with small class sizes. Ann-LASH Beauty Bar was established because of a need! There was a need in the South Florida region to have an efficient, affordable, spa like environment operated by Licensed Professionals. Opening a business in the height of a Global Pandemic was not easy. There were many weeks where zero clients were present. It has been a year since the official soft opening of Ann-LASH Beauty Bar and finally Ann-LASH Beauty Bar is able to operate off many “word of mouth” reoccurring Clientele. Ann-LASH Beauty Bar has always operated with integrity, consistency, and exceptional customer service, and is proud to thrive post quarantine. As a small business owner, I have learned the lesson of “never get too comfortable”. It does not matter if you are the best at what you do, when a national time of silence and cease happens all will be affected. It is up to you as a business owner to stay true to your core values and persevere.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting South Florida we would first receive Full Body Sugarings at Ann-LASH Beauty Bar. Then we would head to Tradewinds Park’s Butterfly World to have an Instashoot. We would brunch at the Rabbit Hole (strictly Vegan), then spend the day at Deerfield Beach taking in the scenery.
