We had the good fortune of connecting with Lanee Bradshaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lanee, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be that of a thought leader, a visionary and a luminary who helped people change their standard of living on this planet. I want them to remember me as someone who is authentic and not afraid to express myself or communicate my thoughts. I want to be remembered as the voice that helped communities of people find their true north. It doesn’t matter if you are an artist, actor, hedge fund manager or a cashier. Everybody has the capacity or potential to change this world and evolve. Everyone is gifted in their own way. I want to be the person that reminds them, you are not what other people or institutions tell you, you are what you say you are.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I struggled with calling myself an artist or an entrepreneur for that matter. I used to think that being an artist came with worldly fame and everybody wanted your work. I’m still developing myself as a brand and working steadily towards my goals. My business evolves as I evolve and it seems like everyday I’m receiving great ideas. When I went to school for art I wasn’t sure that I wanted to be an artist. I heard the term ‘starving artist’ and immediately thought about doing something else. I couldn’t really decide what I wanted to do with my life and spent a long time figuring it out. I only knew what I didn’t like to do. It honestly wasn’t until 2020 hit that it dawned on me. Artists are entrepreneurs, but when I was in school, no one taught me about how to be an artist AND a business owner. It definitely has not been easy, but nothing worth having truly is. One of the biggest lessons I learned is just listening to that inner guide, listening to my body. It’s okay to rest, but don’t give up. I learned to persevere and just pace myself. I had to find my style of expression. I use crystals and earth elements in my artwork and jewelry. I like the nurturing power they provide and thought about various ways I could transmit that into something that would bring joy and light to other people. As a resin artist, I get to experiment with various ideas and each result is always a surprise. What people don’t know about my jewelry is that I created a world surrounding each one. As a child I was inspired by various mythologies from different cultures and fantasy worlds. So each piece I make is inspired by a profound moment in my life. Eventually I would like to make much larger works of art and establish my own galleries where people can experience that nurturing and healing power the earth provides in a very unique way. My healing art galleries are on the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The ARTECHOUSE on Collins Avenue. They have defined what the future of art galleries will look like for me. The people there were so informative and friendly. Being in that place was such a profound experience. I felt like I was in the exhibit. The way the artist blended technology and art was so stimulating. I would take all my friends to that place. Places to eat are kinda tricky, I love food and Miami has a lot of good spots. I would definitely hit up Chef Creole, Andiamo! Brick Oven Pizza, World Famous House of Mac in North Miami, The Squeeze Juice Bar, Guarapo Juice Bar and Cafe and Siam Thai Cafe I would definitely take them to Wynwood on the weekends. I love going to the Art Walk out there. There are so many things to see and enjoy, especially around the holidays. You can eat, shop and people watch. I really loved Crazy Poke down there, they make really good poke salads. I would also take them to Monty’s Coconut Grove Marina and venture out to the Coco Walk. Who knows we may even tour the Florida Key’s on golf carts. Plus, there is always the beach. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who have helped me on this journey and continue to help. I have a slew of mentors and teachers that have inspired me in more ways than one. I would honestly like to first shout out the divine energies that have supported me on this journey. Next would be family, my mother especially. I would like to thank all my mentors from various organizations, like Sky’s The Limit. They really help support entrepreneurs. My spiritual family because they have helped me realize every day that I am not alone on this journey called life, even though it feels like it sometimes. Shoutout to my friends that have also supported me by purchasing my jewelry or attended an event. Shout to my current business partners and companions that were willing and excited to collaborate with me on various creative projects. I am really grateful to you all because this is really just the beginning.
