We had the good fortune of connecting with Bhakti Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bhakti, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was raised in a small town in central Florida by two immigrant parents from India who implement homeopathic remedies, work hard and put others before themselves. Growing up, I enjoyed tutoring, volunteering at nursing home, and physically training students with learning disabilities. All of that ultimately drove me towards a career in helping others. As a chiropractor I take pride in being able to help others with manual therapies and patient education. Currently, I specialize in working with musculoskeletal injuries such as sports injuries, whiplash, muscular imbalances and joint pain, using a combination of rehab techniques, fascial release and dry-needling.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I absolutely love working in a boutique practice where I really get to know my patients. I value my patients goals and help them to reach them with clinical and evidence based chiropractic. My goal is to have this setting in a multidisciplinary practice which combines eastern and western medicine, working side by side other doctors to provide better co-management to patients. In the future I would be thrilled to have a non-profit where I and other doctors can treat young kids in poverty and educate them on the value of long-term healthy habits.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Personally, I love hotel restaurants and spas, such as the Diplomat, Faena, Mondrian etc. Brickell City Centre is one of my favorite places for rooftop views, restaurants and people watching, for example, Sugar is an experience with panoramic views; Quinto La Huella has great food and service and unique poolside seating. Enjoying the beach at South Pointe Park Pier is a must along with a walk in the park with views of Fisher Island. Wynwood also has a fun ambiance with art and delicious food spots all around. One of my favorite hobbies is pottery, specifically throwing on the potter’s wheel and Sarah Glass Ceramics is a place I take all my friends. The artist is very friendly and gives fun lessons in a beautiful studio in Flagler Village.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you, Dr. Tamika Singh for nominating me! I was able to get to know Dr. Singh through a networking group for Hindu professionals and the group has been nothing but supportive!
