We had the good fortune of connecting with Thanne Capobiango and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Thanne, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I believe that for all of us, achieving a balance between personal and professional life can seem almost impossible, the desire to grow professionally or the pressure to achieve professional goals can sometimes take a toll on us. The fact is that, regardless of the reason, failing to take care of the balance between personal and professional life can have negative consequences for one’s life. The important thing is to be aware of how you are feeling at each moment and make a realistic plan to balance all of your activities. Most likely you will need to work harder at times, while at others you will be able to finish earlier without worrying. I also make sure not to let this “reaching a balance” mantra become another source of anxiety and stress for my life. As much as we try, I think we will not be able to have total control over everything that happens in life, so I try to understand my boundaries so that I always find a balance between work and fun regardless of the activity.
What should our readers know about your business?
Benatti Beachwear was founded in Miami with the aim of making women feel comfortable with their bodies, as our suits are designed to enhance femininity with style and comfort with a touch of Brazilian sensuality. Our focus is to blend the perfect Brazilian-style swimsuits with the Miami vibe, which is bright, fun, and energetic. All of our pieces are produced and designed in-house, and we take pride in what we do. It has not been an easy journey, but it has been a fun one. After all, it is what they say, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Mark Twain
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Raised in Miami, I have seen the city mature into an artsy metropolis with several nightclubs and parties, set to a tropical beach scenery. First and foremost, I’d take my guests to the beach or a stroll through Ocean Drive, to appreciate the Art Deco buildings and have fun at a drag queens show. On the next day, I would go to my favorite place in town, the Art District. I absolutely love to shop and dine at the Design District while embracing the ultra-modern architecture, then head down to Wynwood to explore the graffiti murals and have a drink at a cool hipster bar. A trip to Miami is not a trip to Miami if you don’t visit Little Havana, it has such good energy, several restaurants playing live music that make you want to dance. Miami is just awesome, and as a Brazilian, I think the presence of so many Latin Americans makes the city fun and exciting, and the tropical weather makes this city a paradise, I love it here!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person that deserves recognition and is a big part of my personal and professional life is my mother, Eliane Rochebois, the founder of Benatti Beachwear. I am very proud to be able to share most of my days working side-by-side with her, it is a pleasure and a privilege. An amazingly talented fashion designer with an energetic personality that is transmitted to her designs, I learn through her every day. She has many qualities and deserves all praise, not only as a professional but also as a person. We work as a team and it has been a fruitful experience for Benatti Beachwear.
