We had the good fortune of connecting with Demi Visnick, Amanda Kennedy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demi, Amanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process was founded on our personal struggles. Planning our weddings was one of the hardest things we had been faced with. There are so many decisions and considerations that have an abundance of emotions tied to them. We thought to ourselves “How can we solve this problem for others?” So we put down every single minute detail for the fellow bride to learn from. We vowed to be transparent and wanted to help others plan one of the most important days of their lives with less stress and on a budget. And this is how DIY Wedding School & The Bride Blueprint was born!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
DIY Wedding School is a platform for brides to turn to for anything wedding-related. Specifically wedding planning on a budget. What we feel sets us apart the most is our online course called The Bride Blueprint. It is an outlined guide for brides to walk them through every single step of planning their wedding. It’s complete with tips, budget hacks, and tutorials for brides to do things themselves all while saving money. When we were planning our weddings we felt that there was nothing out there quite like this. Sure there were helpful resources, but not one that encompassed everything we needed. Especially nothing telling us what & how we could do things ourselves without paying someone else to do it. We are just so proud of the transparency and the vulnerability we put into our product. To share personal situations in hopes of helping others feel seen is also what sets us apart. It is so fulfilling to look back at something and think “we made that” and know it can actually make a difference. We are most excited that it can genuinely help other brides overcome the financial and emotional stress tied to weddings. We hope the world can see that our brand was founded on our stories, our real and raw stories. We want people to know that our Blueprint offers brides the chance for a connection, the chance to feel heard and seen throughout the entire process they are about to embark on.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely take them to Atlantic Avenue. We would start our day on Delray Beach with some saltwater & sunshine. We would have to make a stop for tacos & a coconut margarita at El Camino. We would bring them down south to Papa’s Raw Bar & then out on Las Olas. We can’t go without a boat day in Lake Boca and then to Deerfield beach for seafood at the Whale’s Rib. We might make an appearance at the country bar, Renegades for a little line dancing. Our beaches are without a doubt the most magical part about south Florida, and cannot go without being seen and enjoyed. The quality of life that the people here possess, their appreciation for our little piece of paradise is contagious and can be felt wherever you go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Both of our spouses & our families have been more than supportive & encouraging. They have without a doubt been our biggest cheerleaders. At times, believing in us more than we believed in ourselves. I also feel that having each other has been a big blessing. Leaning on each other every step of the way. We wouldn’t be where we are without the collective support of our closest people, our tribes.
