We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriella Katia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriella, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for Katia Productions with the idea that my industry was in need of a type of service like this. Someone you can trust to handle every part of the campaign from start to finish and make it so the client only has to deal with KP and no one else. I’ve seen so many designers visions get lost during the campaign process when there is simply “to many cooks in the kitchen”.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been a model for the passed 12 years and have always had a passion for production, which has lead me to where I am today. For the passed 6 plus years I have been indirectly producing campaigns for brands that I have also modeled for. I have now finally decided to launched my campaign production company, Katia Productions. Katia Productions simplifies the campaign process by being your one stop shop. We pick the models that best fit your brand, select photographers that meet your style, scout locations and everything in between. We are with you from start to finish making sure your vision is never compromised. We cater to every specific need in your campaign. We also offer a service where you can ship your product directly to us and you don’t even have to attend your shoot day if you are not located in Miami or are unable to travel to Miami.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week I would start the week off in a healthy way. Monday- Friday (hopefully) we would attend a workout class at either Anatomy midtown, Solid Core or Tremble. We would then walk to breakfast, with options of Pura Vida, Carrot Express or the new just opened Kale Me Crazy! We could then spend our weekday afternoons browsing the design district for some shopping and signature photo ops and possibly hit The Standard Hotel for some sun a juice! Come Friday evening we would head to Montey’s for a beautiful sunset view and happy hour. From there we could head to Freehold in Wynwood to see once of our friends DJ! Come Saturday we would have a nice relaxing wake up and hit South Beach for some sun and probably get a good nights sleep that night because come Sunday we would have a Sunday Funday at Joia Beach Club! Which is now my favorite place to go in Miami with its great food, DJ & Dancing! Come Monday I would say goodbye to my bestie and hope they would visit again soon!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s is many different people that I can thank for mentorship and encouragement when I was starting Katia Productions. My boyfriend, Matt Crown has been my ultimate supporter in every way. He’s always believed I can do whatever I set my mind to and he told me “I don’t see how that wouldn’t work”. Also, people I’ve worked with throughout my modeling career have also been great supporters in Katia Productions and have seen me grow and produce many campaigns and believe I can. Then of course, my close friends who have helped me build my website, media kits and supported me with words of encouragement from the beginning. It’s so nice to have my loved ones also believe this is the perfect path for me.
