We had the good fortune of connecting with Meesh Fleming and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meesh, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
I want to have it all! I want to maintain a successful personal styling business or become a celebrity stylist while also having my own clothing brand. I see myself having wonderful success in both areas and continuing to expand into new territories.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I officially started my business in September of 2020 so I just recently reached a year in business! I have been styling and sketching informally for years through friends and family but once the pandemic hit, I seemed to be called to dive fully into my business and go full-time. Everything you hear about starting your own business doesn’t really hit you until you are in the thick of it and experiencing it yourself. What I mean by this is you always hear about the success stories but don’t often get to hear about what it takes to actually get there behind the scenes. There would be some months where I would have multiple projects or clients and some months where I would go without having a single client. Different challenges and roadblocks have and I am sure will continue to come my way but I always remind myself of how far I’ve come even in such a short journey. I remember the days when I used to pray to be where I am at today. Now looking back, I want people to know and remember me for the hard work I put in to get to where I am and continue to aspire to be. I want them to see the authenticity and understand that I did it from the ground up. Though some days are hard and some days are amazing, I always make sure to stay humble and graceful as I continue to navigate the waters of the industry and to always appreciate both the small and big wins.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would definitely be in LA! First stop would be to brunch at Mama Por Dios because the food and drinks are to die for. Next we would probably go to Melrose and/or downtown to do some shopping. You can always find something good to add to your closet in LA! Afterwards, we’d go to the beach and just hang by the water to relax and people watch. You definitely can’t go to LA without visiting at least one beach and you’re always bound to see something interesting while people watching in LA (lol.) For dinner, we would go Nice Guy (they have this one pasta dish I just love!) and then probably go out somewhere downtown or wherever is supposed to be lit that night.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my parents first and foremost. They have always been my rocks and helped push me to purse my dreams no matter if I failed or not. I was taught at a young age to do what makes me happy and not ever care about what others thought. Their love and support have always been something I could feel even when things weren’t going well or when I wasn’t where I had hoped to be in life. They definitely keep me going and help me to strive for the best. I also want to give a special shoutout to some of my best friends: Mike, Kay, and Jane. They are always there for me in whatever I need and would drop anything and everything just to help me out. I love ya’ll for life!
