We had the good fortune of connecting with SATU & CELESTE GREENBERG and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SATU & CELESTE, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Don’t ever work with friends!

We’ve had so many people say this to us throughout the years. For us it’s one of the best things about having our own business, to collaborate and support artists and friends in business. It’s a luxury to have these opportunities and makes all of the sacrifices worth it to create magic together.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We started Tuleste Factory almost 3 years ago with 5 artists and the business has grown to us representing over an incredible mix of over 25 designers, makers and fine artists. We have never stopped believing that our concept could be successful even when Covid shut the company down those first few months…we made the decision to use that time to create better digital platforms and presence and also discover new artists and designers to bring on for the future. The main lesson we’ve learned over the years is that most successful businesses take years to flourish. We are proud that our company has grown in an organic way on our terms and we continue to press on…world domination or bust!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our absolute favorite restaurant at the moment is Saint Theo’s, opened by a good friend, Kyle Hotchkiss. It is exquisitely designed with insane attention to detail and the food is just as elevated. Other top hangouts: Via Carota and Le Zie our local spot. Our favorite city hangout is our gallery Tuleste Factory…a hidden gem in Chelsea where anyone who enters never wants to leave;)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’d love to give Quincy Ellis at Facture Studio a shoutout;) Quincy is one of our talented designers, creating exquisite resin sculptural furniture. He believed in our vision for the gallery portion of Tuleste Factory from the moment we opened our doors and signed with us right away. Quincy has become a good friend along the way and part of our success has come from him being open to pushing the limits of his material and take on complicated commission projects. One will be installing early next year and is our biggest project with him to date so be on the lookout in downtown Manhattan!
