We had the good fortune of connecting with Taymir Terrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taymir, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
Fake it til you make it. I prefer: work your butt off, build relationships, and keep pushing until you make it. In a world full of fake, be unapologetically authentic to who you are, what you believe in, hone in on your skills and grind it out. I think that’s how you really make it. It’s alright if you don’t know everything, there is always an opportunity for growth by asking questions and learning.

What should our readers know about your business?
Three years ago for my best friend’s birthday I surprised her with a really special beach picnic fully decorated with rugs, cushions, tropical floral arrangements, lanterns, and 8-10 of her closest friends. At the time this was truly unique and special because beach picnics weren’t at all a thing, especially not how they are now. Once the pandemic hit, I started getting a lot of interest and special requests to curate a similar beach picnic experience for people who wanted to celebrate safely outside with a small group. Once I saw the interest to start celebrating again was there I started my event planning business with the special beach picnic that I curated three years ago for my best friend at the forefront of it all. Now that people are gathering in large groups again we are thankful to celebrate with large events, but beach picnic experiences are what really got us started.

The thought process behind my business was to bring my fresh and innovative ideas, as well as my love for events, design, and all things social to the community through Taymir Creative (Taymir, LLC.) The foundation of the business is event planning and curated experiences at its core. I also offer consulting for clients that just need an extra spark of inspiration and guidance, as well as event and interior design services. No matter what type of creative project, I love being able to bring our client’s dreams to life. Taymir Creative has been fortunate enough in the last year to help bring brands’ creative vision to life through special events, experiences, influencer partnerships, and so much more.

One of the biggest lessons I learned along the way is to cherish and value every relationship. The love and support I feel from my family, friends, clients, and community bring me so much joy. The support from everyone that supports my business is the reason for its growth and success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s say my best friend from out of town is visiting the area for the week and I want to show him/her the best time ever here’s what we’re doing:

We’re starting every non-hungover morning with a workout. Depending on our vibe we’ll be at Legacy Fitness, Sol Yoga, Jet Set, or Barry’s Bootcamp.

Then we’re going to grab a bite either at Zak the Baker or Pura Vida.

We’ll continue the day by shopping at The Design District or Bal Harbour Shops. More adventures will likely include visiting Super Blue Museum, rollerblading down the beach, tanning, visiting hotel spas and pools.

We’re going to WATR for sunset drinks and dinner at Carbone. A few other dinner spots we’ll check out throughout the week are Harry’s Pizzeria, The Surf Club Restaurant, Pubbelly, Jaya, Chotto Matte,

On Sunday we’re going for drag brunch at R House, then having a few sunset cocktails at Joia Beach before heading to Kiki’s on the River.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today as an individual and as a business owner without the support of my family and close friends. The Taymir Creative concept was founded over dinner and drinks with friends on a Friday night. The encouragement and support I felt from my friends inspired me to start the business that Monday. I was able to reach new creative heights with hard work and help from my family. Family and love are truly the foundation of it all.

Jeffrey, thank you for supporting me through it all. You wear so many of your own hats and still manage to help me juggle mine. I’m so lucky to have your support, love, and friendship.

Thank you to my parents for their mentorship and support. Mom and Dad, your enthusiasm for entrepreneurship has inspired me and given me the confidence to take risks and start my own business.

Thank you to my friends and family: Taimir Terrell, Vinz Terrell, Taylor Terrell, Ty Terrell, Jeffrey Neuman, Jessica Fernandez, Jake Fernandez, Nelson Fernandez, Jasmine Fernandez, Josh Binder, Ryan Dunn, and Peter Anadio. I love you!
