We had the good fortune of connecting with Bella Blu Zimic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bella Blu, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always dreamed of having my own business. My mom is a successful fashion designer and she inspired to go after my dreams and supported my decision. I was attending camp at the bass museum of Miami Beach and they were teaching about trademarks one week while we were quarantined…. It got me thinking… what do I love most and it came to me! Creating!!! I love to create, paint, sing, dance, make people happy. I make stuff for my friends and my mom, love just seeing people smile when I give them something I created. One day I came home without my mask and my mom was a little concerned about my memory, I explained that I was playing outside and I didn’t know where it went. So, the next day after my mom made another mask for camp, I created a mask holder with my name on it, it had sparkles, beautiful colors, bright letters that spelled my name, I felt proud to have created such a piece of art. I took it to camp and every single person in my art camp was in love! They wanted to know more, they asked if I can make them one with their name and favorite color and the rest is history. Fast forward until now, I create bracelets, keychains, lipglosses, masks, bows, barrettes, headbands, chokers, hair ties, anything to bring out the artsy kid in you and that is super cute and colorful that’s what I love to make.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Each piece I create is unique, I never know what I want to do until I start and then it kind of creates itself, has its own life. I imagine each piece having a home and someone to love them. Each piece is like my baby, each piece is original and doesn’t follow a pattern, each piece is art and fashion. That is what I truly believe is part of my success, people always complement my color options and my combination. It’s nothing you see every day. I get inspire by the ocean, Mother Earth, the sun, all things I love. I want the work to know that is never too early or to late to start your own business. I want them to follow their heart fiercely without taking the no’s to heart and continue to go for the yes. To have the freedom to follow and do what you love and to pour your heart into it. I’m only 8 now and I feel I can do anything.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place on earth is is my home because that is were I create my jewelry. If we had to go somewhere, I would take them to Disney because it’s only 4 hours away and we could take a road trip, after we would go to the beach, then to eat sushi, I love sushi and there are so many good places to eat sushi in Miami. They have the best restaurants. I love Peruvian food too, my mom is from there so we are always tasting new places to go. Ceviche 105 is one of my favorites. Then we would go to fun dimension for some more fun and we would go to cold stone for some ice cream and movies at night at sober spot cinema for the best food and movies in Miami.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my mom, for being that special person in my life. She is the one I can always count on, she supports me with happiness and love. She has inspire me to reach for my dreams, that I can actually make my dreams real and that nothing is impossible. This is so important, having the support and love of your friends and family. I feel very thankful to have a mom like her that not only inspires me but that loves unconditionally.
