We had the good fortune of connecting with Negus Lutese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Negus, how do you think about risk?
I think about risk in terms of reward. Without risk there would be limited growth and in this life, growth is one of my goals.

Risk has played an important role in my life and career by simply, just trying. I’ve always wanted to be successful but being successful involves risk and it involves being open. Success and risk go hand and hand and I’m open to any opportunity that will take me to self sufficiency and consciousness.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of being an artist in terms of creating and bringing visions to reality and meeting so many beautiful people along my journey.

Honestly, I am where I am today because I am a person who believes in showing up and being present even when I don’t feel my best. It wasn’t easy creating a career out of modeling but it is a experience in itself that has its ups and downs.

I decided to always be optimistic and learn from what some may call challenges and learn something from everything I experience in this industry. I’ve learned that I’m not alone in this journey of self discovery and self sufficiency.

All I want to be is my best self and I can say that I am that today but I’m always growing.

I would like the world to know that you’re one of a whole. Even though we all go through our own paths we have similar ways and it’s always best to be compassionate and show love and generosity to those you encounter in a daily basis. I say all this to say, be gentle with yourself and others because we all go through it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I’d go for a walk in Lincoln Park Conservatory and visit HandleBar restaurant and bar in Chicago. I like to keep things simple and just experience being in the moment.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a special shout out to my therapist Joy and my life coach Kaneda for always being open and receptive to my journey and being along for the ride.
