We had the good fortune of connecting with Phalanecia Kincaid and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phalanecia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My Thoughts about starting my business, hmmm Good Question. Ha! I knew since I was younger I wanted to start my own business. Growing up I had a wonderful life as a kid., It’s when I became an adult I took a couple wrong routes and I got tired of struggling. So one day me and my Husband Jeremy was talking,we was literally down to our last $100. We knew our next move Had to Be our Best moved. So I decided to open up a Phlebotomy Training Center not thinking about the Pros or Cons. I just jumped in there Head First.. Jeremy supported me 100%.‘I have the First Black owned Phlebotomy School In my area. It has been very successful. Unlike most school I actual Love to see my students succeed,I’m with them every step of the way on this Journey. Now We have 1 Phlebotomy Training Center,A Health and Wellness Lab, also a Funding Company for startup, business,and last but not least an Airbnb located Downtown  Miami. I’m very Thankful I decided to jump out there and start my business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Opening  my Training Center was definitely a challenge. Now don’t get me wrong I never had doubts but I did have a butterfly feeling as if everything was going to failed right in front of my face. I knew what I needed  to do to stand out from other Phlebotomy Training Center. It wasn’t  about the money to me,I just want my students to succeed. I want them to get experience and Education  under their belt. So they can become successful employees or Businesses owners. I always Encourage my students to open up there own businesses. “You don’t always have to work for someone,You can be whatever you want”,I told them.

Now I have Learn several lessons with each of my businesses,Nobody never said this would be a walk in the Park. Trust,it Definitely hasn’t. Business is Never Personal, although you want to help everyone….. you just CAN’T and I’m completely fine with that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think my favorite spot /restaurant in the city was Bacon B*tch. I love the atmosphere the Food. It was such a vibe . Everyone interacting with each other  another so much Fun. My Girls would definitely love everything about it. I’ll also take them on a private boat tour and of course I couldn’t let them leave without catching a Miami Heat Game. Last ,but not atleast you can’t enjoy the Miami experience if you don’t stop by the beach. South Beach here we come.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my Husband Jeremy Clark. Life has been crazy for him since he was a child but he’s always kept the Faith and kept his mind in a Positive State, without him beside me, my business or myself wouldn’t be where I am today. The long talks, from him finances my business to just volunteering when I need help. I’m forever grateful. He’s the Best.

I also want to shoutout my beautiful daughters without them I wouldn’t have the motivation I Needed to just keep going. I never gave up even when times got hard for us. I remain Humble and kept the Faith. I’m grateful for my family!
