We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Holt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caitlin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
One of the biggest risks that I took in my career was leaving my full-time job to start my own marketing agency. At first, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to support my self, but knew it was the right decision. I felt like I would be able to make a bigger impact in this world by creating my own marketing strategies, rather than using the same copy/paste approach that many big agencies use for their accounts. This ended up being one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I have had the opportunity to work with incredible people and brands from around the world, and couldn’t be happier.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, Hitch Agency, is a full-service marketing and creative agency. Our services include digital media buying, web design, photo and video work, and social media management! One thing that sets Hitch apart from other agencies is that we make the most of the our clients’ time and budget. After working for two large agencies early in my career, I noticed that they only care about how many clients they could sign on retainer, rather than providing quality work. I realized that I didn’t want to take the same approach with my own clients, and wanted to make sure they were given results that they liked. No matter the size of your business, we put the same amount of dedication and quality into all of our work. I am very proud of the fact that I am able to give back to my community by helping other businesses to grow. It is a very rewarding feeling to help others!

Running my own agency hasn’t been an easy road by any means. I have had to learn how to manage my time and communicate effectively as a business owner. Also, I have realized that it is essential to work on projects that you feel passionate about, or you will get burnt out! I am fortunate to have touched many different industries, with some of my favorite being automotive, art, dance, fashion, tech, and hospitality. Another important lesson that I have learned recently is that it is okay to take a vacation sometimes! I have a hard time pushing projects back to take time to enjoy life, but have realized that I can make time for myself with proper planning.

Overall, I feel excited to wake up every day and work on marketing and creative projects. I am extremely grateful, and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me and for Hitch Agency.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is an endless supply of amazing places to visit in Miami! Some of my favorite restaurants are Bellini, MC Kitchen, Little Hen, Forte dei Marmi, and 1-800 Lucky. I’m a huge automotive and art enthusiast, and enjoy attending events such as Miami Concurs, F1, and Art Basel. Also, you can’t miss going to the beach if you’re in Miami! The pool and beach access at 1 Hotel is so much fun, and is definitely my favorite place to relax. If I have time at the end of the day, I love watching the sunset from the Sunset Harbor Marina. The view is the best in Miami.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize my wonderful parents for everything they have helped me with over the years. When I first considered starting my own business, they encouraged me to take that leap, and never stopped believing that I would be successful. Whether it’s helping me with a question about finances or giving me advice on scaling, they have been with me every step of the way. Also, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my clients. I love that I am able to dedicate my career to helping them grow, and am so thankful for the support of everyone who I have worked with.
