We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Anders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, how do you define success?
Success to me is when you are blessed with the energy to help others, and have to power to do so, defines success to me. Money is not success to me, although some may disagree with me. True success is in your mindset and how you go about life. Always having the right attitude. Staying true to your word and being your 100 percent authentic self. All of it defines Success to me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am currently a full time DJ and Music Producer in and from Miami, Fl. I’m from a town called Kendall. I became a professional 3 years ago before the pandemic. Ever since then I’ve played at all my favorite clubs and soon will be playing at my favorite events and festivals. I’m most proud of all the people I’ve been able to help in the music scene. To me that’s the biggest thing. Being able to help others is something I strive for, it’s a big part of building a supportive community.

This of course was not easy at all. In the beginning I had to deal with a lot of rejection from labels, artist and DJs. Postponed bookings and even cancellations the same day as the booking. In Miami, there’s a lot of competition. It’s a saturated market, so you truly have to be unique and bring something to the table to separate you from the rest. What sets me apart is the passion and love I have for DJIng and performing for crowds. The energy and love is felt through the music that I play at shows.

I’ve learned as the years passed, to have a lot of patience and faith in myself. Not rushing the process and making sure to enjoy the process as well.

I want people to know, that I’m just some regular dude who is following his dream. I want people to know that if I can do it, they also can pursue their dreams and become successful too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live where everyone vacations, Miami. I’d hit up Space nightclub in Downtown Miami. We would hit that up 3 days in a row Fri-Sat. We would hit the beach all weekend during the day and have brunch with the homies over at Unkwn. After, we would end the nights in the condo while enjoying drinks with the Miami city in the background.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a lot of credit to myself. All the blood, sweat and tears that have been shed. The constant learning and always holding myself accountable to my craft. Everything else was an added bonus to my life and career. I read personal development books which has helped me a lot with growing as an individual.

Of course I do have to give thanks to the clubs, club managers and agents that have booked me. Keep Florida Clean, Treehouse, Sky Yard , Unkwn, Apex , DeeptechMiami, Rebel Society. They helped me grow as an artist in Miami and I am forever grateful for the knowledge and opportunity that they continue to give me.
